How to check if you have a v1.6B

1. Manufacture Date after 2004-9-01 (9th Sept)
2. System RAM is Hynix (v1.6 seems to be Samsung)
3. Xbox Freezes during flubber sequence.
4. Xbox boots fine but freezes during games.

Fixes:

FlashBIOS v3.03 Works fine
X3 1959 v16plus Bios & Evox M8 v16plus works just fine

Hello I am a little confused whether my xbox is 1.6 or 1.6b, the manufacturing date is 2004 10 12 but my ram says samsung and not hynix???? so what version is it??? :roll:

as far as i know, a v1.6b xbox is if you have Hynix Ram. my xbox has a mfg date of 9-18-04 and i got samsung ram...so therefore its a v1.6.

I just modded a friend's X-Box, and I'm pretty sure the manufacture date was 2004-7-14. It was a holiday pack, bundled with Amped and Top Spin. It came out of a sealed box, and I remember making note of the date before opening the box.

I opened up the box, didn't bother looking at first, then, lo and behold... hynix.

I'll double check the mfg date the next time I see him, but I'm almost positive it was 7-14

i have not open it up yet but i think its a v1.6b from what i have read now do i install my x2.6 xecuter mod the same if it was a 1.6 thanks guys

just had 4 black xbox .....dated 10 04 2004 bought from argos and they are all ver 1.6b.

all philips dvd rom.......seagate hdd....... and hynix mem

looks loike they may be running out of crystal cases

just cause its black dont asume its not a 1.6b

For the record, I've got a Crystal Xbox, mnf date 26th Sept' 04, w/ Samsung RAM, Samsung DVD, WD HDD.

Oh, and the power/eject wires are mostly brown

Your ranking is noted by the number of posts, so the both of you two acting like 5 year old bì†çhë§. we all know exactly how you both gain your post rankings and it's pathetic and a mockery of the forum system. This is one of those events i personally suggest the admins install a ranking system similar to myspace's "Kudo" system, except your account gets canceled and your posts removed if you get negative points, anyhow...

One of my clients brought me a 2004-10-23 xbox, i assumed it was a 1.6b, but everything else seemed to register as a 1.6 durring modchip install, flashing, and x3 labeling. just thought i'd state one of the anomalies.

the point is, its a 1.6b period if you have hynix ram, it runs off a different timing sequence than the other samsung ram, its no an anomoly, its your a dipshit, the new bios works with the timing sequence of the ram, the old ones dont, your just too f**king stupid to understand you had a new bios
