How to Check My SATA Chipset..??

Hi,Like a total dumb noob. :oops: I am tryinig to find out if my SATA chipset if compatable to flash my Samsung Drive..?? I have been following the superb TextBook tutorial,just before I take the plunge..the only prob I have so far is finding out about my motherboard`s Chipset..I know it`s SATA but I can`t find the chipset...any advice would be greatly appreciated.. :p

Most VIA cards are supported. So just make a bootable USB with xtreme bootmaker and select 'use custom mtkflash' and give it a go.

I think Ive found what I was looking for(VT8383)..?? :? I used a program called aida32 to show my system info it listed....

I have not heard about this particular flavour of VIA SATA, but I would bet better than even money that it will probably work....

Give it a go and let us know :)

I would only assume that it's an older motherboard as it only supports AGP but like vinomarky said you stand a good chance with the VIA :)

Thanks Guys for the Help/info ... I appreciate it.. I`ve just started on 360 modding learning curve.. :oops:

my console has been sent for repair at the moment(not my fault honest :lol: ),as soon as it returns I will have it in bits?? :wink:

My motherboard is a few years old now I think it was one of the first 64bit compatable boards.. asus K8V Deluxe
