How to Clone and Upgrade my HDD?

Hello,

I have a 120GB Elite with a Xecuter CoolRunner Rev C. How can i clone and upgrade the internal HDD? i want to use a 500GB HDD.

If you want to go bigger, then cloning is out, as once you clone the drive, there is no way to extend the partitions, as they are not standard partition types. Your best bet is to plug in the new HDD, format it, then copy the data off of the one, and then copy it to the new one. a transfer cable is very helpful for this.

And i just need to copy with the cable the data from original hdd to pc and then just copy from pc to the new,bigger hdd? And after this just replace the old one with the new one in the xbox hdd cage?

Yes, with that cable you can copy the data on the xbox from one HDD to the other. You can also copy the data via FTP to the computer, and then dump it back on the new HDD, or use XTAF explorer to extract and inject the data into the new partition. That being said, with that cable you will only have to copy the data once, where if you do it any other way, you will have to do it twice, and need an intermediary drive to put the data on during the in between.
