You can, but the kit makes things much easier.

If you are planning on using RGH on your console, I recommend the following parts:

Corona 4GB NAND R/W Kit
CR4 XL
Corona QSB V3 (Sold out at the moment)
POST Fix Adapter V2


The QSB is optional, but recommended for an optimal install.

Google is your friend man. No other way to put it. Unless you want to fork out $6-$7 to get the r/w kit. It makes things a lot easier. Takes forever to dump a 512mb from a BB Jasper. So good luck man.
