The answer is in your post. The only supported media is VERBATIM

Cheaper, lower-grade discs have greater areas of inconsistent dye at the outer tracks than higher-grade discs, such as Verbatim do. This isn't an opinion; it's not debatable; it's a fact so live with it!!

This is why c4eva has reported that only Verbatim discs have been burning consistently error-free. The statement, "But, my cheaper discs have always worked fine," is irrelevant as you will be burning them with a capacity they were never designed for.

Don't be a cheap ass and use 6x-8x Verbatims (These will be MKM003's though you will be burning at 4x)

I have a quick question. What's the difference between mkm003 and mkm001. I've been using mkm001 verbatims with no problem so far, just wondering if I should switch?

I used the Media Code Speed Edit to create my own speed hack firmware for my Memorexs. All it did was change my write speed to do only x2.4.I did this after three bad XGD3 burns and it ran through error free. They have not brought me one single error in play yet :)

yea 003's are upto 8x speed. I've been using 001's at 2.4x with no problems, just takes FOREVER! to burn lol the next batch of discs im getting are definately going to be 003's. 45mins to wait for a burn is painful IMO

I would like to see the Kprobe results if you could post them? And when you say in play? I presume you mean the game plays/installs ok. That doesn't mean it's a good burn.

I'll spam this until the end of times because it did wonders to me and I had like 10 coasters before this revelation of sorts:)

Speed 4x
OPC off
Smart Burn On
Force HyperTuning off
Online HyperTuning off
OverSpeed off

Using Verbatim MKM-003s. The recommended values where OPC on and SB/FHT on, because they are firmware-default, but OPC ALWAYS resulted in huge spike/failed verification on layerbreak, at least for me, and with FHT on the results were high above the recommended PI/PIF values. With these settings I have this, just burned a backup.

The kprobe results should be:
Pi max 100 or less
Pi adverage 5 or less
Pif max 5 or less
Pif adverage 0.20 or less

So this is clearly not a good burn! Stop wasting time buy verbatim, simples!!
