how to flash with bad eeprom.

my eeprom is corput and when i boot the cromwell the screen flickers so i cannot read anything. there is a bios that can fix this but how do i attempt to flash the chip without seeing anything. also, if the eeprom is bad does the cromwell still work?

Your eeprom is probably not corrupt -- if it was, you would get a frag.

Recheck your solder points... Can you boot to MS dash?

i do get a frag when i disable my modchip, its flashing red lights, when i boot to my modchip the flubber comes up and the xbox symbol comes up, but when the roxmybox comes up it freezes, i read on the fourms that this was an eeprom problem. i have rechecked and resoldered my points and they look fine, when i take the eeprom off (i had to swap to an new motherboard, so its socketed) it is the same problem with the cromwell screen flickering and flashing red lights. i am making an eeprom programmer but do not have another socket so its really hard to keep the wires on it. if you believe it is another problem then i will try it. also if this makes my problem when i try to boot my 60gb harddrive it reads with the suprflo error 7. i still have my eeprom image on back up.

Need some advice about a liteon

I have looked on this forum up and down and I haven't seen an answer to this question, but I did look.

I’ve been waiting for the new LT to come out and since it’s not out today *shock surprise* It’s a wonder if it will come out at all. That being said
I have a brand new xbox with a Liteon 83850c and I’m not 100% clear which firmware to use. From what I understand it’s the stealth patching that is what was getting us noticed and it’s smarter to use a non stealth patched firmware and scan everything with ABGX. However, there doesn’t seem to be a non SP FW for this model. I do have an older BenQ drive but I wasn’t sure if M$ is going to notice that a different drive is in the box…
What should I do as to not get banned?

(And don’t be a smart ass and say “Don’t mod your box”… that’s not helpful or original.)

Well I hate be an "ass" but you answered your own question at the bottom. The only answer to not get banned is wait till Lite Touch is out or don't flash at all...

Personally, if i was not going onto live until LT, then i would flash with 1.6 - Live isn`t all that anyway. PC online game play is much better.

Yes, you could do that. I would go with 1.6 and just stay offline until Lite Touch is released then flash to that then you're home free on XBL...that is, until M$ finds away around LT lol

playing offline doesnt protect you from being flagged. the system will still log what is happening and then the moment you connect to live, that info is sent to m$.
