if you can boot to evox from the X3 and need to flash the bios.....

1. make sure your x3 bios is on your hdd
2. edit evox.ini with.....

Code:
Flash        = 0x01AD,"XECUTER 3",0x100000
3. Boot to evox
4. Switch to Banks 1234 (on on off off off)
5. Flash with X3 Bios

Done :)

it helps when an idiot flashes banks 3-4 and sumhow manages to reflash banks 1-2 at the same time....deleting his ORIGIONAL X3 and installing X2 overtop of it....UNABLING him to hold white/X to get to X3-live....this feature allows us to flash from an X2 bios + evox to a X3 bios

thnx for the code fixed my problem!

I would like to know all the posible ways I can update my actual X3 Bios version (1957), for the latest every time I need it.

For what I have read I can do so via Evox, or directly with the X3 chip like the first time, I mean with a bootable CD which contains the new BIOS.

What I don´t pretty understand is, can I overwrite the bank where my current BIOS resides just like that?

And how can I use the full potencial of the Backup bank?, let´s say I want to keep the previous version here every time I upgrade.

Thanks for your time.

Ok here is the situation. Got a X3 and low and behold it has the wrong flash bios. The chip seems to working perfectly other than the blank screen. All lights are lit and switching and boot lights verify working.
No help from reseller, told me to find a old xbox to install it in.
So with tons of reading i use the soft mod to boot evox, now able to ftp and such. I put the proper x3 bios and flashbios for 1.6b into bios folder on c drive.
I added the line

Flash = 0x01AD,"XECUTER 3",0x100000

into the bios section of evox.ini file in the fonts folder. I booted into evox with chip off header and then pushed it on. I then enter the flash bios option and nothing happens. show absolutey nothing in the text box i guess it is.
I've checked and rechecked and the bios are there and that the flash line is right but still nothing.

Any help with this would be great.

f**k knows - ive never done a soft mod and wont ever need to either.

however it should work - you should make sure your mod has flash protection disabled - like the tutorial says

i may remove the flash protection switch as too many ppl just dont f**king set it to disable and then spen a week posting about how their chip sucks and not their eye sight

Please do not remove the flash protect switch, it may cause some heartache but in the long run it helps.

general question xecuter... if my flashbios is saying my flashtype is dev=0x01,manf=0xad, instead of flashtype: xecuter 3, what exactly should I do ?

Running v1.6 xbox
x3, only flashbios 3.0.1

btw, my backup flash isnt work, pushing power and eject results in xbox giving me a really dumb "im not doing sh!t* look. No power, no video, no lights, no hums, no whirs.. nothing.

So basically im stuck with a flashbios that doesnt know where it's at or what to do when givin a command like flash from HD results in Unknown Flash, Halting, and no it's not write protected :p

Flashing a Lite-On 74850C

I just bought an XBOX 360 Elite with a Lite-on DVD drive, firmware is 74850c firmware. What i need to know is, do i need the CK3 adapter to flash this drive or can it be done without it? I will be using a VIA 6421 SATA controller.

Thanks in advance for all your responses.

Google Maximus USB Xtractor and Power dongle, These will make your job so easy. Power dongle is used so you can power your 360 drive off your pc and usb xtractor, well it is used to extract key from your lite-on drive.

Read more about it, with these, flashing takes about 10 minutes, given you've already opened your xbox.
