How to get FlashBIOS 3.0.3 on old X3

Hi Everyone,

My old purple X3 chip doesn't have the 3.0.3 FlashBIOS on it. I have installed in in my v1.6b.

Is there anyway to get the 3.0.3 bios on it without sending it to someone to do a hot swap? Is there an accessory I can buy that can allow me to do it somehow, like a USB attachment or something like that? Unfortunately noone seems to live in the Toronto area that can help me out

set your switches to off on off off off, then it should boot 3.0.3 . the set them to on on off off off & flash

Aparently the new Spiderchip programmer will work. I've not seen this, but read it somewhere on Xbox-scene

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately though my chip is older and doesn't have 3.0.3 on it.

Another possibility....
An xecuter2 programmer is meant to be able to flash the 1st 1mb of the X3 2mb bios bank. I havn't tried it so cant confirm. Cheers

If the X2 programmer detects the X3 chip... chances are, it can probably flash on it. I'll give it a try when I get home.

It won't work.

The way the X3 is laid out and designed stops it from even plugging into the programmer - let alone detected.

I too read the spiderchip programmer should work, but haven't got one to test.

If anyone else you know has a chipped Xbox you should be able to flash it in theirs.

what about using the wire install pinheader? the kind you get with the chip? i mean use the pinheader from the chip to the x2.6 programmer. you cant put the x3 on the programmer as it faces the lpt port plug, as the 2.6 chip faces out. just need to know how to wire the chip ......... ..wondering if it can be done, as i have the same problem.....

ok has the old X3 got a backup bios push power/eject at same time if it has and you are runing a X3bios you can backup your backup thats on the chip with thisthe X3 bios
the frist thing to do is ftp a folder to your xbox C/ folder with the flashbios in it call it "bios" it my pay to but the new X3 bios as well
now reboot xbox with while holding white button on controller now go to backup your backup bios on the menu of the X3bios dash click on it then flash by harddrive find the bios folder with flashbios in it high lite it push A it should run once it has stop restart xbox by power / eject at same time to get flashbios screen job done

If you are 100% you have a V1.6b and not a V1.6 then change it but if you have a v1.6 xbox the flashbios 3.0.3 will not work on it so stay with the flashbios 3.0.1 as i had 3.0.3 on my v1.6 and had to go back to flash3.0.1

I think it's time for Team Xecuter to consider launching a X3 programmer or are they working on it already? There's a lot of x3 users around having this kind of problem and it'll be a big help! just a thought...
