Im going to install an X3 chip and i know what to do as far as that goes, but im not sure about this flashing stuff. What programs do i use to get the right bios (not flashfxp though) and what do i do from there? I've heard about many different bios' once you get to the right place so which one do i pick?

there is no programs per say that you will use but you will require to use certain flashbios to flash hacked bios into. Check to see what xbox version you have. If you have xbox versions 1.0-1.5 any version of flashbios will do. If you have xbox version 1.6, then you will require flashbios 3.0.1 to flash properly and same with 1.6b which requires flashbios 3.0.3. Flashbios are legal bioses that comes preinstalled with your X3 chips. If you just got your x3 recently, you most likely got X3CE which has flashbios 3.0.1 on banks 1234 and flashbios 3.0.3 on banks 5678. It is done so that it will cover all xbox versions.
In terms of which hacked bios you need to install, it all depends on your xbox version again. If have v1.0-1.5 then use X3 3029.bin. If have 1.6 or 1.6b you need X3 3029 v16plus.bin

i have a v1.0 so i would need the X3 3029.bin. I have a mIRC program but a need a different FTP program other than FlashFXP. Any suggestions for other FTP programs that i can find the .bin file?
nope, you won't find it anywhere except site I posted. Cuteftp works fine and so many others I'm sure.
ok i got Cuteftp. would i just follow the same steps as on that site and look for the same 3029.bin file?
look for xbox->bios->xecuter 3->dl x3 3029.rar file. Extract the rar file into a folder in your PC

. not i need to convert and what not to put it on a dvd. the only thing is my dvd burning software is Sonic Record Now v7.3. Would it be easier to dl nero and follow the guide on the xecuter site.

Make sure to rename the X3 3029.bin to bios.bin prior to burning into a DVD as instructed. Most people miss this step.
Why do you need a different FTP program than FlashFXP? I use it, and it works great. O well.. whatever works for you.
well it does have a 30 day trial. if you're cheap (like me ) you need to find a free ftp program.
