I'm currently have a working, modded xbox v1.6 with Xapter (v1.6) all thanks to your feedback on this Forum. It's great!!!! Just have a question regarding the external switch that came with the 2.6CE chip.

The external switch has 3 selectors (with 3 LEDs of course) and two "other" LEDs namely "HDD" and "LAN". How do I go about having these two extra LEDs working? I've seen tutorials on xbox-scene showing how to it but I thought that since the 2.6CE external switch has them already, there might be one of you .... crazy modder that done this already.

Thanks in advance for you reply.:D

Sometimes the switch to turn the LEDs on and off is labeled backwards. Try it in both positions if you have the red and green wires soldered.

Thanks for your postings everyone. I've checked your comments and the URLs and came up with this conclusion:
1. The default Xapter (v1.6) solderless adapter does not have built-in options for connecting the LAN and HDD LEDs.
2. To utilize the HDD & LAN LEDs on the external switch, I'll have to do some serious soldering together with with opening up the motherboard. This was one strong point for me to go with the Xapter in the first place.
3. Even if I decided to proceed with point 2 above, is it true then I'll have to discard the Xapter and go with the LCP rebuild option? (which require more and more soldering)
4. If answer to point 3 above is YES then I think it's better for me to be safe and choose to use a separate HDD LED as outlined in the tutorial found on www.xbox-scene.com.
Thanks again for your reply.

All you have to do is solder the LAN and HDD LED wires. Your solderless adaptor will still work. Just be sure to tape up or remove the grey (D0) from the harness.

correct solder the red and green wire and do youself a favor cut the gray wire right were it goes into the harness that way you won't ever have to worry about it shorting out against anything

I've done it ! Successfully soldered the HDD, LAN wires to the board and cut the D0 cable to the harness. A point to not is that I'd wish the wires were a little bit longer (about 1-2 cm longer) since I did not cut any length from the wires and they were stretching to reach the chip.

They shouldn't be that tight. Maybe try routing them a different way.
