How to identify winbond or mxic without opening the case

I saw a picture / post about a month ago on how to identify which slim it is without opening it up
it involved using a flashlight & looking in the side to see if you can see a certain heat since or something
I have been searching for it for a while, does anyone have a link or can post the info / picture on this thread?

That is to identify the xbox motherboard version, trinity or corona

you have to open the case to find out what chipset your DVD ROM has, MXIC or Winbond
