How to install XeXMenu and FSD with no HDD

Hello,

I just JTAGed my first Xbox 360 (Zephyr) using the NAND-X. I have two good dumps of my NAND. I used Jtag Tool 2.20 to flash Xell to get my CPU key then I flashed freeBOOT 12611.

I now want to get XeXMenu v1.1 and Freestyle Dash2.0a onto the Xbox, but I do not have an original Xbox 360 HDD. Is a HDD required? Can I use just a regular USB stick or USB HDD?

No you don't need an a HDD to install xexmenu or FSD, apparently you can install it onto a USB flash drive via modio. As I haven't tested this yet I can't advice much further, try googling it.

You don't need an original Xbox 360 HDD if you have a xbox hdd shell you can put Sata 2.5" Hard Drive in and format it with your 360 your just giving yourself hassle trying to get everything onto and work on a usb stick but if you up for a nightmare who am i to tell you..

Okay, thanks. I could not get Modio or XBox360Commander to properly read the Xbox 360 formatted USB stick but it worked with USB Xtaf Xplorer. So I copied the C0DE9999 folder to the appropriate location but XeXMenu didn't show up in my games library. So I reformatted the device again (the last time I reformatted it in the 360 was before JTAGing it) using the console and redid the same steps. It now shows up!

So one more question... would I be able to load games from any location (USB or HDD)? Or do I need to create a games folder on a HDD and load them from there?

Yes, you can load any game from any path with Freestyle. Just specify the paths you want in settings!
If you want them to show up in game library on NXE, you would need to use ISO2GOD (New release out today) and put the GOD packages in Content\000000000\

I just installed FSD2.0a and DashLaunch 2.0.4. My launch.ini looks like this:

Make sure the path is the same on the usb as the one you wrote above.

Your .ini says "C0 DE99990F586558". Make sure the name is the same in the folder on your usb, or simply change to "C0DE99990F586558"
