how to know if my 360 drive is pal or ntsc?

just curious whats the best way to check? or with the firmware that textbook put on it plays both? also i got it here in washington state, usa. if that helps at all.

Well if you got it in Washington it is most definitely NTSC. PAL boxes are generally over seas. Although the Japanese use NTSC as well.

The regions are as follows:

NTSC-U/C are North American consoles
NTSC-J are Asain consoles
PAL are European/Australian consoles

You would fall into the first category unless you purchased your 360 off ebay (or other providers) from another region.
