How to make my replaced hitachi drive work, please help.

I was told by swaping pcb board from any hitachi works out the box. It doesn't work for my case I have a old 46 that i want to replace with a 47, i already swaped the boards. when insert a game it says open tray, doesn't even make a reading sound.

This xbox was not originally mine, i purchased it refurbished, could it be that the bcp i swaped isn't from my xbox 360? is that why it's not working.

in anycase what can i do, i have the key and hit-ofw and key from my 46 drive. please help.:facepalm:

it could be the laser or the spindle motor in the new drive is defective.

no it works, was working on the xbox it came.

The pcb in hitachi 46 and 47 are identical.. As long as you have your drive key it should work as I have done it with my first 360.. If you still get same problems then you know for sure it's not pcb. It's somethink mechanical inside

if you have the key and ofw then just flash the board that was in the drive originally and junk your complete old drive.

Incase i'm the dumb type, can you walk me step by step to insure i am doing it correctly please. like how flash it. dumb it down, i don't care at this point.

the board your swapping could be f...ed up best to pull the key and flash the new drive

how? i only know how to flash with firmware cause it does it alone.. exactly how do i flash it with my original key?

Before asking for help you should search forums as the answer you want is there in a full detailed step by step tutorial

Not sure what you mean or trying to say. I'm not asking to flash my drive with cfw, i'm asking how do i make it work with my key but i manage to spoof my key into 47 drive and boots my games now. thanks anyways for helpful reply person above.

Writing firmware into the IC is called flashing weather it is cfw or ofwif you want it ofw just spoof your key into an ofw from the stock fw folder that comes in the LT+ fw package
