i'm going to go out and get a new (christmas bundle) one how do i make sure it is not a 1.6b

chances are it will be a B version, only way to tell is opening it for sure

check the stick on the top of the 1.6b section damnit

The 1.6 B problem is sorted...Just make sure your X3 is shipped with Flashbios 3.03 and you will never know the difference.

Will JTAG'ing fix my 1013 E71 Error?

I have a broken xbox I have been trying to fix so I could JTAG it. I did x-clamp fix, reflow, and fixed a 0022 error.

Ive got it to where it boots up and gives me the buggy dashboard error 1013 E71.

So If I was to just go ahead and JTAG would the aftermarket software take care of it?

(I found this while searching and wanted to double check before I started the JTAG)

I'm in the middle of fixing this one.... do a dump of your NAND before you do anything, keep it safe. check your dashboard version and pm me. keep in touch with me in the mean time with your progress, i'm determined to crack this one. I have found out what the problem is with mine. (missing sysupdate.xexp2 within the NAND) after a failed update.
