I want to know how to mod my old xbox 360's dvd firmware to play burned games ?

For flashing, read through the JungleFlasher tutorial for your Xbox 360 DVD drive model as Coleman stated. The extra drive for ripping is actually an Xbox DVD drive. Also a compatible burner with BurnerMax firmware is also necessary for all new backups.

read it but can't get the drive to come up. i use windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and the drive is a BenQ VAD038

How are you connected to the PC?. Some onboard SATA chipsets are not compatible with Xbox drives. You may need a via6421a card or an x360usb pro for connectivity.

had it connected to my SATA port on my motherboard which is an ASUS M5A97 EVO with the AMD 970 Chipset

Press F8 while windows is loadin. Then select "disable digital driver signature". This will allow portio to be installed and the drive should appear if you have a compatible chipset.

once u download "JUNGLE FLASHER" soft u'll find it in the firmware folder!!!
