Hi, I have a 1.6a xbox, and a recently installed xecuter 2.6.

I have to boot from bank 1 for flashbios 301 (bank 2 wont boot), and I want to put x2_5035_v16plus_512k.bin as bank 1 (because you have to start at bank 1 with 2.6) and flashbios_v301.bin (to make sure I have a working flashbios on there) but when I combine them with
Code:
copy /b x2_5035_v16plus_512k.bin+flashbios_v301.bin
they are 512k+256k=768k

flashbiox 301 won't take any filesizes other than 256, 512, and 1 MB.

How do I get the x2 5035 on there while keeping flashbios 301?

open X2 Bios Manager program (can be found in downloads section) and put X2 5035 v16plus version in banks 1 and 2 (it will automatically fill up 1 and 2 because its 512K), next open flashbios v3.01 in banks 3 and 4 (flashbios also need to be 512K) and that will create a 1mb bios which you can flash to your chip

if you flash a 256k bios to the chip it will cause a frag

If you've already got a working flashBIOS on bank 2, then just flash the 512k X2 BIOS to your chip. It'll always start flashing from bank 1, so you'll retain bank 2 regardless of the outcome as long as you stick to 512k BIOSes.

Instead of using DOS to combine BIOSs, just use the flashing app FlashX from XBINS.
If you're using EvoX you should stop and use FlashX as its much better and designed for use with X2 modchips by TeamXECUTER.

- In your case, just update the first 512k bank, then flash the 256k FlashBIOS twice on 3 and 4.

I really advise against flashing the entire chip at once if you don't have to.

The banks get erased before they're flashed, so if you're unlucky to lose power etc, your chip will need a programmer to reflash. If you have FlashBIOS working on bank 2, then as I said stick to 512k BIOSes. You'll always have a way out !

May be a stupid question, but is there a way to convert FlashBIOS 3.03 to a 512k bios? I don't have it on my box, only X2 5035 (X 2.2 lite chip), and I'd like it for safety reasons, but while it's a 256k bios it won't work.
