Hello,
I need to get a replacement motherboard for a broken 360 I've got here. I see a need to have the original DVD drive key from the new motherboard and to inject it. My questions are as follows:
1.) How to obtain the new motherboard's DVD drive key
Note: I think already know this one but want to confirm. If I hook up my dvd drive to my PC in the same way I flash its firmware, I see in the folder there is a KEY.BIN. Is this kind of file I need from the new motherboard?
2.) How to inject the new DVD drive key from new motherboard into old DVD drive
Note: I am not sure if I do it the same way I flash the firmware will work. Maybe use restore.bat or something? Or use some firmware tool? I'm only thinking off the top of my head. Can anyone with experience let me know for sure?
The drive I have is a Hitachi 59DJ and I have all the files from it backed up on my PC. Will it matter if I get a board that had a Samsung on it before? If anyone could shed some light on this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
