Does anyone know how to secure 1.6ce modchip? Every time I move my Xbox to new area, it would not boot to dash and the switch would not light up (modchip disable). The only option I have is open the Xbox and secure the modchip before it can boot to dash. Note, I had secured the pin header firmly, but big movement on the xbox will disable the modchip. Please help

Here's a trick of mine. This will allow you to put your X3 chip on
your header pin very tightly.

(please be gentle when doing this)
You want to bend (just a bit) a few pins on the head pins such that they don't vertically point up as they use to. I bent pin 13 away from pin 12, bent pin 11 away from pin 10... etc... you can bend all the pins on one side.

Now when you put the modchip back up the header pin, there is a lot of friction.. or resistence. So, when I said bend it just a bit.. i really mean it or you wont be able to fit the chip back on. It takes some trial and error.. you will get it. Sorry.. no pics.

Thanks for your response. In which direction did you bend your pin 13 away from pin 12 such as to the right or right up becasue pin 13 and pin 12 is diagonal to each other.

I did the same thing with mine...only on accident. When I was soldering, I melted the plastic thing that holds the pins in place. Either way, it's the same thing....in principle...

my bad..

I really meant..

bend pin 13 away from pin 14,
bend pin 11 away from pin 12,
etc..

it doesn't really matter the direction you bend it, just as long as the pins
grips on to the modchip when plugged in.
