Ok I put the wrong firmware on a replacement pcb that came with 9504 I put lt plu 0225 on it and now the drive is locked so I guessing I'm screwed now since the chip on the replacement pcb has 05 on it

Which replacement pcb did you buy? Check this http://team-xecuter.com/forums/show...4S-Unlocked-Replacement-PCB-*New-Version-1-1*

and check a little more in that section, you will find your own answer about how the unlocked replacement pcb works.

Edit: This comes also quoted from tx.

Also note that if you are using a 9504 drive (if you are lucky enough to find a non-fake version) that the drive's MT controller can be locked at ANY time via cdb commands. This is non reversible and is not a scare tactic, it is a fact. The custom DG-16D4S PCB has a manual write protect enable / disable switch so YOU are in control. You simply disable WP, Flash the drive, Enable WP and you are done.

NOTE: If you have previously flashed and locked the PCB your SPI Lock Status will be 0x8C - if this is the case - Select switch on PCB to WP#1 and press the 0x8C button to unlock! this will change SPI Lock Status to 0x00 ready for writing
