TX Product(s) used: J-R Programmer V2, Corona QSB Install Kit V3, SLIM PROTO V2
Console Type: Corona V1
NAND size: 16MB
Dashboard version: 2.0.16203.0
CB version: 13181
preparation : nanddump1.bin , Cpukey
Target Dashboard : 16537

I want to update my RGH2 xbox dashboard from 16203 to 16537.
(my new game request me to update at least dashboard 16537 in order to play. )
I red J-R programmer manual, but details are not written.
I also searched TX forum, but I couldn't find detail procedures concerning dash update with J-R Programmer.

I describe my understanding to update dash using J-R programmer below,so please correct me if wrong.

Step1 : set data to J-Runner V0.3 Beta as follows
(1)Image selection Dash Version = 16537 , Image type = Retail
(2)load source = file name and its path of nanddump1.bin
(3)Cpu key = Cpu key value (32 characters)
(Motherboard = Cororna ( automatically set after load source info is set )
(5)Others: DVD, HDD are set as usual.

Step2 : J-Ruuner command
①Create ECC
②Write ECC
③Create Xebuild Image
④Write NAND

Question:
(a)①Create ECC and ②Write ECC are necessary before ③Create Xebuild Image ?
(b)After Write Retail Nand, under the RGH2 selection, do I have to re-create and re-write Xbuild Image ?
Namely changing Retail ⇒ RGH2 , next 4 step are necessary again ?
①Create ECC, ②Write ECC, ③Create Xebuild Image ④Write NAND under the RGH2 selection

Thank ypu

Have you had a read of the jrunner page 22 tutorial? (Updating a dash the safest and easiest way)
Thank you for your reply.
Of course, I read the jrunner page 22, but I couldn't understand this description.
I think this description is not for noobs, but for the people who are familiar with xbox and J-R Programmer
I can't understand these words
・Dashlaunch updsver
・options:nowrite, noava, clean, noreeb
・patches in settings
・Client mode etc.

Moreover there is no description about DVD. If one adopt this way, he must connect DVD? or not. how about HDD?
I have an experience of failure to update dashbord because of no connection of DVD, resuled in no xbox boot.
So I need detail description.

Can I update dash if I do as below ? if not please correct.
(1)connect J-R programmer to motherboard with 7 cables
(2)connect PC to J-R programmer with USB cable
(3)connect PC and Xbox to LAN so that J-Runner access xbox via LAN router
(4)connect DVD to xbox or not ?
(5)connect HDD to xbox or not ?
(6)connect USB memory which format is FAT32 and its root directory contains updsver (renamed to default.xex )
(7)use J-Runner as follows
(a)get target dash version files, by downloading system update from advanced menu before using this updater
(b)connect power cable to xbox (but not make boot)
(8)Finally push Update bottom in the Update Mode tag.

Thank you

Download dashlaunch configurator and run it on your xbox. Go into settings and enable updsrvr. Open JRunner from your PC, input your xbox's IP. Download latest dash from JRunner, follow the directions to update over your network. Couldnt be easier.

Thank you for your reply. I tried as you said, but I couldn't update.
I enabled updsrvr in launch.ini by dashlauch installer. next from my PC connected LAN router, I selected dash update
but J-Runner stopped by fatal error as below .( there is J-Runner log at the bottom of this is post. )
I can't understand the reason why I fail to update, because under same connection and same IP address I can connect xbox ftp server from PC.
Also ping command from PC to xbox IP address failed as well.

I found same problems in next forum.

I'm reading and searching solution in this forum now.
If anyone knows solution, please help me
Thank you

This is a self post.
After several trials, finally I succeeded to update dash version from 16203 to 16537 with J-Runner update mode.

This time, I used Windows/XP PC in stead of Windows7 PC. I Copied several files (e.g. CPUkey ) and installed J-Runner.
I connected this PC and xbox to the network environment the same as last time.
Because J-Runner couldn't find xbox in this network, the first update trial failed again. So, I checked dashlaunch ini setting. At this time I found that updsrvr status was not set as "enable". After I changed it to "enable" in memory and kept watching the setting of updsrvr in dashlaunch, I selected update bottom in J-Runner. Finally it worked except avatar data update failure. But I recovered avatar failure by referring next post method.
http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90631
I attached J-Runner log at the bottom of this post.

It is very ashamed for me that the cause of the failure was a my simple mistake, but I think this post could help noobs like me, so I wrote this post.

I felt that dashlaunch's command is complex for noob. I intended to store dashlaunch ini under the condition of updsrvr as "enable", but it was saved as "disable". At the same time I also saved dashlaunch default.xex file path, this path was saved as I intended. So, I did not doubt updsrvr status. This is the reason I failed before. I think dashlaunch's command is not simple for noobs, hence I made a mistake.

I recommend to noobs to keep watching updsrvr setting status in dashlaunch when noobs start to update with J-Runner dash update mode.

I'm sorry for my poor English.
Anyway thank you all.
