Okay Johnny, followed ur every step and got the update also updated the dashlauch. After the console powered down I booted my Jtag back up...IT FREEZES on the intro (u know the 360 logo). what does this mean???? Need ur advice peoples...

Is there a chance that I bricked my jtag from writing dashlaunch??? First I checked that the kernal was updated then installed the dash launch files...then it powered off after the update...

Well it sounds like all was fine up until you did DL because you installed it so make sure you have the legit Dash Launch v2.21 For FB 12625 from auto xbins, did you you install the avatar update as well if so you have to do the update right or you get all sorts of problems.. its at the end of the tut how to do the custom avatar update..

Can someone tell me if a jtag xbox 360 can bypass the dasboard updates?For ex if i get a jtag 360 that haves the dash 2.0.12416.0 and them a get a game iso that haves a file in it for the 2.0.12625 .0 dash.Can i still play this game on the jtag with the 2.0.12416.0 dash?Or do i have to update the jtag dashboard with the 2.0.12625 .0 dash to play that game?Any way to extract the file dash 2.0.12625 .0 and lunch the game on the 2.0.12416.0 dash with jtag? Im a noob on this things and about to get a jtag.Thanks in advance

Ok slow down write back your backup nand i presume you made one before you started if not write back your original nand.
Are you using nand X if so and its connected open cools Jtag tool and click on Write Bin and select ether your backup nand that you made or the original nand and it will write it back and power cycle the Jtag..
It should be boot up fine if it was fine when you started you missed up somewhere along the way so lets get you back to the start..

okay just plugged in my nand-x to my console and i'm tryin to write my original bin but theres an error that occurs when i try to write it. any ideas??

What's the error ? also check your solder points for the nand x make sure they have good contact a multimeter wouldn't go a stray there, if you have a bad contact you wont be able to read or write to the nand.

Okay Johnny, THANKS for all ur help...got my Jtag to work again...I just finished updating it to the latest dash...I had problem with my laptop writing my nand but I think it was due to a couple of things, one being not restartin after I updated the nand drivers...but I have a question regarding the dashlaunch...Do I delete the kxam.patch or what do u mean about the ping limit remover???

JEEZZZZZ...I just updated the dashlaunch and the same thing is happening...freezing on the intro...and I cant seem to write the backup nand...the error comes on again while using the jtag tool v. 3.00...

"Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Access to the path 'FreeBOOT.bin' is denied."

Any ideas anyone???



SOLVED MY PROBLEMS!!!!

Installed Dashlaunch but how do get the fsd to load at start up and how come when i plug in my external hard drive it does not see it anymore???? Johnny???

butowood your not a problem child by any chance lmao i think most of your problems is with your pc and not reading a tutorial right its not the jtag by the looks of it.
That kxam.patch AKA ping limit remover is not needed no more it tells you this in the tut, its in dash launch there is nothing about FSD in the tut so its kind of off topic don't you think but i'll tell you anyhow.
I presume you have the launch.ini file from Dash Launch it will be called sample_launch you rename it to launch ok now you need to edit it on your pc open it with note pad and you edit it to launch FSD first there is a info_launch in DL also it tells you all the config short-cuts.
Now you place the edited launch.ini file on the root of hdd same place where you have all the other folders and run dash launch installer again to patch everything up.
The hdd problem if your saying you cant see it on FSD then you need to go to settings on FSD then content settings / Manage Game Paths press A and find the hdd Games folder and press Y then X to save it and repeat the process for what ever folders you want eg home brew.. then you should see them...

OK Johnny, I just installed Dashlaunch again and same thing going on...I keep tryin but it keeps freezing on me...heres what i do... I'll start after updating the Kernal 12625...

I downloaded the Dashlaunch 2.21 from xbins and unrar em then I FTP the folder "install" and the "launch.ini" file to the root of the HHD1. It tells me either to overwrite or keep both. I overwrite em then I go to the install folder and press A to run the "default.xex." I update the dashlaunch and I press "a" all the way to the update for the Jtag and the Console shuts down...Thats when I turn it on the freeze starts.

I tried keeping the kxam.patch and I even deleted it. I tried this more than 1 time...

I need u knowledge and I know ur instructions straight forward but this is really buggin the poop out of me...

So its sorted what ever you were doing it has to be human error and i think its with Dash launch the old one should have been deleted not over written for a start, anyway you say you got it going.. good that you did

when i try to do the system update with my usb stick after updating to the new dash i get a error and it wont install. if i change the name it wont even boot the update?

dont mind me im an idiot, i plugged in the stick after it booted and it updated fine, why it wouldnt when i booted it while it was plugged in ill never now.

OK so I have a problem.
I followed the tutorial, created the updflash.bin fine, flashed it and rebooted (didn't do the unplugging for a min and flashed keeping KV/config). Had trouble with installing the system update. So I figured I would start from scratch and follow it word for word.
This time after rebooting after unplugging for a minute or two the xbox will turn on but not boot up (controllers don't sync, nothing appears on screen, can't boot into xell with eject, etc).
How do I fix this? I know the updflash.bin file is good it worked when I just did it my own way and didn't follow the tutorial word for word, now that I did it doesn't work.

I have a Cygnos V2 installed ( I knoe you only need one NAND nowerdays)

It is strange the only Tool box which ever worked was the BestPig tool box
I have to selcet there Cygnos V2 alternate wiring to get it work and CPU KEY and Original NAND dump

Can someone help me ? or say what I did wrong ? I followed step by step ...
I tried to update by update.bin and Flash 360 and Cygnos V2 toolbox but non worked

huh update.bin ? if its named like that no wonder you make the fb bin with your original nand and key then you name the fb bin >> updflash.bin and put it on a usb stick with flash360.
