did xell change or some thing what do you mean by this im kinda lost, the last xell i used was the xell on JTAG tool 3.0
well when you use jtag tool to make the freeboot bin on options you can chose how to eject xell (hdmi) or xellous i left it on xell (hdmi) so i do not now if is necessary but i use xell update v1.1 with the old update xell-2f.bin and now y have xellous i did it this way so i have better compatibility with hdmi

Thank you for this tutorial - I am a total n00b (bear with me), but followed this on my virgin Xenon and everything is working great, except one thing: before (when I was on 12611) I could press eject into Xellous 1.0, now nothing happens but a blank screen - a few questions:

1. In JTAG tool I left the "FreeBoot Eject" setting at default: Xell(HDMI), was this wrong? Should I have picked Xellous instead? I have no HDMI on my XBox, just component.

2. What is my best course of action now, do I even need Xell/Xellous? I assumed it was a good thing to have?

Excuse my ignorance, I am still learning - thanks in advance for the help.

ok so i am setting up my .ini for dash launch and i find the following in the ini read me info:

; if liveblock is set to true, this will block the console from resolving all MS related dns
; setting this to TRUE will also block apps like freestyle from accessing things like cover images
; if not set this value will be FALSE
livestrong = false

does this effect things like Xlink and other stuff also?

im also going to post my finished .INI file here so some one can have a look at it and tell me if it all looks correct i dont have many apps or any thing on the system yet so the small .ini should be more that sufficient

looks ok to me but its your Jtag so you set it to how you like, when running the installer it tells you what's what so you answer all the questions and it will over write the INI file but not your boot sequence.
So you edit it to what ever way you like things to boot there is a sample INI file that explains all this in dash launch.

Cool ya I seen it pretty much wrote the ini for me only thing I don't get is what all is effected by blocking ms dns I'm not even sure if clink on fsd is stant alone or if I still need the program on pc you will hear from me in the coming days as I get things configured and set up lol

Xlink need to be on your pc then you can run it on your 360 look go here www.teamfsd.com all your questions can be answered and a lot of info on how to get Xlink up and running is there also.
I have taking you as far as it goes for me on this tut time for you to do some fishing yourself..

it makes no odds to what ever you install Xell or Xellous its only to get you CPU key most people never use it again but can be handy in times of trouble. you installed freeboot so i don't know how it screwed Xell so if its bothering you that much ether reinstall Xell or try Xellous which ever you like, maybe the xell hdmi did some thing to i if it did its a first for me might be a bug.

I dont have my original nand. Is it posible to extract the freeboot nand file from my jtag and use this in coolshrimps jtag tool to update my dashboard?

Use Flash360 on a USB stick and do a full dump of your nand use that also keep it for later as its your backup when things go wrong, make sure you have the right CPU key entered and make sure you select the right SMC Points when making the new freeboot.

Hi. First thanks for the great tutorial (and program), it really can't be easier than this, though I need some help.

Is there a way to find out what my SCM points (Original, aud clamp or open tray) are?
I've got a 256mb jasper, have the original nand (66mb) and cpu key, the only thing I'm not sure of is these damn SCM points and it seems it's rather important.
Thing is I cannot reach the guy I bought the xbox from and I haven't got the tools (and will) to open the xbox atm.

So if there's a software of some sort I could use it'll be perfect.

If you open Cools Jtag Tool click on the part where i have it marked as tools in the screen shot, you will see a window to the right with Images .
There is a drop down box with screen shots with SMC wiring points you will need to open your jtag to see what way its wired.

guys hopin someone can help...first off please dont flame me if this has been answered in here allready but it's 1.35 am and just cant read all 36 pages at the mo...following this guide to update to new dash and got to the point where i select which smc point i have...i got no idea as i baught it allready tagged and im a jtag noob,dont wanna risk lookin myself and makin the wrong choice...i get my console open now so i could post a pic if anyones willin to help me out....missis naggin me to go out tomoz so not get chance to do it tomoz...cheers
