How to upgrade 16D4S 0225

Hello guys, inexperienced here need help. 9 y/o son is driving me crazy…
Back in 2011 I installed the sputnik switch and flashed the 16D4S 0225 console.
Last week my son was playing a game and apparently did something…cannot play burned games anymore. (he did not go online).
I want to upgrade the firmware and dashboard and have no Idea where to start.
Current Dashboard installed is 2.0.16202.0
Help will be appreciated.

Of course. I do own the original games. But my son is 9 y/o and would scratch the disks in just a few days. I am constantly doing back ups for him......so he only gets to play with copies.

do ur orginals still work, u can update via xbox live or by usb

well that elimates ur laser cuz its reading orginal games If it waz mine I update the dash and reflash the drive n see if that helps, what does it say when u put backups in and what disc are u using and what software u using to burn them

Just becouse it does read the original does not eliminate the laser, a worn out laser can read originals but having trouble reading burned backups.

I will I update the dash and reflash the drive....hopefully that helps. I do not think the laser is bad. I backed up nba 2k14. My son tried to play it and I think he might have hit update...(no online) bcs back in 2011 dash was not 2.0.16202.0. He could not play the copy....after that...no more backed up disks would play.

I am so frustrated. I am trying to run jungleflasher on a 32 bit win 7 and it says "No I/O ports were found during enumaration"

Ok guys, I give up. It was so easy two years ago....I guess I am getting old. Back then I had a computer running xp and it made the process smooth. Now I have pcs all with win 7 and jf gives me "no VIA ports.........." so it cannot find the drive. I guess I would have to find somebody to do it.
