Hi Guys, great forum....I have a problem.

I have Xecuter 3 on a 1.6.
I am getting blinking orange light with three re-sets.

I think i have done a fairly good job of soldering...D0 looks ok, etc. Rechecked every solder point, etc.

I did find a little solder splash, however, I did not short any circuit paths. The dot of solder sits cleanly over one path.
On a different forum, someone recommended using a Circuitwriter pen from RS.

QUESTIONS:
1. Why would be a possible root cause for a mod, where I would get blinking orange? From what I have read, blinking orange means no AV cables. Any ideas where this problem would be located on the MB?
2. Any one have experience with these pens, before I go out and buy one?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I have never used these pens... but i would insist on checking your soldered joints on the LPC and d0. I used a normal multimeter by placing 1 probe on the metal part round each screw-hole on the motherboard and with the other probe try touching each pin, the meter should go mad with each pin! This worked for me like a charm.

As for the splash, i wouldn't worry about it if its not joining anything. If it is.... CAREFULLY try and scrape it off, or if its a big blob, desolder carefully.

Thats all i can really say, sorry! But the multimeter helped me out! :D

Yes, I had to use that pen for the D0 dot... I soldered it off. The pen I used really put out a LOT of the stuff at one time. So what I found was best was to put a little bit on a piece of scrap paper and just bairly (I MEAN THE SLIGHTEST TOUCH) touch the excess to the point and then move it around to fill in the hole.

Tell me where on the board your problem is so I cant help you further.

Ha michael816, yes you are the man!

Thanks guys for the help...I will try what you suggest....maybe I will post some pics of the solder joints and get your opinions.

Those pens are almost not worth using......

Just know that when you're applying it, cover the traces around it somehow.
(i.e. electrical tape, or some other stuff)

AP 2.5 Question

Alright so I have a sammy spoofed as a lite-on running LT been online and fine so far with Black Ops and such. My question is:

- Can I play any of the new games with AP 2.5 offline or online without LT + since its not out for my drive?

IF SO:
- Can my drive be detected online playing one of these games even though (I believe) the sammy's dont have AP 2.5 detection?

Been trying to figure this out for awhile, let me know yalls insight.

Thanks in Advance.

Re: AP 2.5 Question

Sammys cannot perform ap25 checks - yours is spoofed as a lite-on (which can) so it will try to carry out ap25 checks and fail! resulting in ap25 challange fail and system flag!

My advice dont try it

get a liteon and replace your drive (usual method) and flash it with LT+ then run your backup iso through abgx 1.0.4 with autofix level 3 and verify stealth ticked!
