yes the point was messed up so i had to repair it like in the tut, then i soldered the green wire onto the resistor with the other wire and testet if it worked, it did and i finished it whit putting hot glue on top of it, have worked ever since

this thread: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74992 shows alternate RGH points. For the CPU_PLL_BYPASS, it says to connect two points together, but after that, where would i connect the green cable coming from the coolrunner?
If you've messed up the CPU_PLL_BYPASS, get the console to someone to fix it. It's not for an amateur to repair. You have about 5mm of trace to use on the top side and once that's gone, your console is done for. It's also about 2-3 times harder to solder to.

I'm just trying to RGH a spare 360 lying around as a project for fun. I don't really mind if it gets messed up or not

No worries - Please read ALL stickys and threads thoroughly as all information you need will be there (including trace repairs).

If you're intent on doing this yourself and you've already destroyed CPU_PLL_BYPASS, you're better to bin the board or use it for practice.

Yup, i've read through everything repeatedly. I got most of the other solder points, only this one was giving me trouble.

Wait a minute.... You guys are talking about fixing that stuff? hell, i can't even get past the qsb part... And also, the CPU_PLL_BYPASS, really isn't hard to break.. That is, in my perspective.

ok im back after a few days.
I was able to create a .ecc file. I havent tried the alternate point yet... since i can't seem to find it on the mobo, any help?

Also, i tried to boot into xell, just incase i didnt burn out the CPU_PLL_BYPASS. A green light flashed once on the cool runner when i pressed the eject button, the light on the 360 power brick turned green, but nothing appears on my monitor? Is this normal since i didnt fix the point yet, or does it mean i have some other problem?

normal without pll_bypass. i would advise you to solder on the track, not on the point. that's how i prefer. be certain to use flux (very very important). also i would try in other board or something first. that's your last chance :D

thanks but i haven't been able to find the point:facepalm:. Is it under the heat sink? will i have to reapply thermal paste if i remove it?
