I noticed on fsd2 that there is an x link kai feature and I'm wanting to play black ops or possibly mw2 against other people. Just wondering how I use it. Ive downloaded it on my pc and setup an account but dont know what to do next. Do I need to use my pc along with it or is it a standalone feature?

Thanks

i'm not a 100% sure its running fully yet bro you can find out more to see is it up and running on the 360 dash http://www.teamfsd.com/ but it is working from your PC you need to portforward your router to UDP 30000 and make sure you have kxam.ping.remover on the root of your Hdd.
Then Xlink config and make sure Nat is ticked like below >>>

Alright cheers mate I'm wanting to run it from the dashboard really because I've got my PC plugged into the same tv that my xbox is on so it would be a pain swapping back and forth between inputs. My PC fans are quite loud and I've also got them running at 100% on my 360 so it kinda sounds like an airport runway when they are both on at the same time. Its usually one or the other unless I'm using FTP because the noise drives me mental lol.

Correct me if I am wrong, your saying that it is possible but your not too sure whether that feature is fully working as fsd2 is still in the beta stages?

If it is possible would anybody who has done it be kind enough to share how you set it up?

Thought I may aswel ask this aswel while I'm at it, how do safetly set FSD2 up to download box arts etc? I have the Ethernet cable plugged into the back of my PC at the moment for FTP.

Bro just because XLink is on your FSD you still need it running on your PC and portforwarded to UDP 30000 on your router and you will need this version Kai Engine (v 7.4.21). your XBox links to it then it Just means while its running on your PC you can control it from your FSD you could not do that before you had to do it all from the pc.
Now as it goes for box art FSD gets its for you if your games are showing in your Xbox 360 Games on your dash and you have a network cable in it will find and download what ever game you have showing in there, if not press Y and go to Refresh Artwork.

Ahh right, so how do I portforward my router to UDP3000? I've been looking for the last 2 hours and can't find anything on it. After that should be good to go. Im using dashlaunch and have set the 30ms ping patch to on so do I still need this patch you are talking about in the root of my HDD?

Also if I plug my ethernet into the router how can i be sure that it wont connect to live, is there something I can do? It says system link patched on my profile part on fsd2 does that mean I'm safe?

What router have you got eg . make & model
yes you need kxam.patch must be in root of the hdd and be named kxam.patch just encase it got renamed for some mad reason its in auto xbins or Google it up to you..
and yes plug in your net work cable if your that worried about XBL just block it in your setting on the normal dash...
It says system link patched because you did it in the installer but you need kxam.patch on the root of your hdd for it to work it removes the ping limit in games so you can connect to anyone.. retail 360 can't do that on XLink its limit is no more then 30m.

Hi, my router is a BT Voyager 2091. It has the port forwarding options but I'm not sure how to do it and like I said can't find anything on the net.

Oh and also got the box art and stuff sorted now thanks!

Thanks mate. I was'nt too sure what ports I needed to put in the port start and port end parts so I just put 3000 in all of them, gonna test it now.

Got it all connected now, the UI on FSD2 works fine. Only problem now is there is hardly anybody online lol. Another thing is I'm not too sure how to update my version of black ops because everybody needs the same version to connect.

Thanks for all the help anyways.

Sometimes its busy in there just depends there is always B.Ops games going you know you can connect to people in the US you have ping limit remover..
The update your talking about is a Title Update AKA TU all your TUs go on the root of your hdd in the cache folder, when you start the game it will auto pick up on the TU in the cache folder.
The TU that there using in XLink at the moment for B.Ops is TU 3 google it easy find.

Think the remote ui box ticked makes it work from fsd so long as engine is running on hooked up pc. May be wrong but works for me.

Done some more digging and the latest versions are now universal plug and play so if router is set to UPnP then port setting in kia can be set to 0 (default) and it should plot its own port in theory.
