Okay i want to get http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php?productid=16185&cat=264&page=1 that chip for my Xbox, i have not mod'd it in any way.

I want to know is there any auto installer i could use to install the programs for the chip like the bios,dashboards, ect...

The soldering part i am fine with but after that i am lost, i don't know what comes next.


I have read guides but i still don't understand what i need to do to get my Xbox mod'd.


I also want to install a 300Gig hard drive.....someone told me that there is a auto installer that will setup my hard drives for me, install other programs with a push of a botton.

Does a program like that exists, where can i find it?

Please help me with this.

Also i want to store my games on my hard drive, also i am not going to play on Xbox live i just want to download addons from there like new maps ext, can i do that with this mod chip and a 300 gig hard drive?

Well when looking for dashboards and etc you might want to narrow your search to the tutorial section. in this wonderfull list of know-how there is a refference to "xbins". here is where you'll find everything you will need to mod your box. to get to this go to the web site xbox-scene.com and look for the" guide to using xbins". (http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/xbins.php) hope this helps. and remember take your time going through the tutorials and most importantly....have fun!!

Take a look at the tutorial "guide to using xbins" at xbox-scene.com the guys there have put ALOT of time and know-how into these tutorials. In great detail they take you step by step through the tutorial and there are great pictures also to help you out as well. everything you need is in xbins. it's been discribed as the "Holy Grail" for xbox mods and trust me it's all there!!!(auto-installers,dashboards,emulators etc.) but take your time when reading the tutorials and the next time you post it won't be asking any other questions, only praises to the hard working people that took the time to share their knowledge. :cool:

Okay what i understand is after i do everything they say, i will be able to access Xbins, then i can download their bios,dashboards,programs.

And if i am right what i said above then do i have to do the whole thing again when i want to access Xbins.

Or will there be like a shortcut to Xbins.

You'd only need to access xbins when:
1. You've lost everything that you've downloaded. I saved and burned mine onto a DVD including all files on the original xbox HDD.
2. When you wanted something else other than the ones that you've downloaded.

BTW, when you're in xbins, I would strongly recommend you to download X2 5035 (assuming you'll get the 2.6CE) and also the torrent file for AutoInstaller Deluxe (AID) v2 or v3. First you'll load 5035 onto your chip and then boot with AID. AID is the single program that will install almost any xbox programs under the sun for you at the touch of a button. I've used it myself and loved it. There's also another auto installer called Slayer. I've got it downloaded but never used hence I can't really say how good it is.

Also many expert answers throughout the forum would prefer 5035 over Evox M8 so do follow their suggestions.

Another suggestion that you should be cautious with what version of xbox you have to be able to boot into the default "blue screen" FlashBIOS. Why am I saying this? Because unlike the X3 chip, there's no way to fall back to "backup" FlashBIOS if you for instance:
1. Install a wrong hacked BIOS on your 2.6CE
2. Install a corrupted (very unlikely but possible) hacked 5035 BIOS on your 2.6CE.

If you install 5035 and you box FRAG then go back to this forum and seach for methods of re-programming the BIOS. It'll either be using a Programmer or doing a hot swap.

BTW, if possible, BEFORE flashing the chip with 5035, see if you can boot to the blue screen via BOTH Bank1 and Bank2 or not.

Another thing, the 5035 BIOS that I loaded is 512KB and not 1024MB. If you do 1024Mb then you basically flashed the chip with 5035 in both bank1 and bank2 -> Hence no default FlasBIOS in bank2 for you to fall back to.

Okay it is soo much clearer now, thaks vincentn2K2 and Teff lon vbmenu_register("postmenu_197710", true); you help me out big time.

A few more things, i am going to get the X2.6CE, now after about soldering the chip, i have seen some pics of peoples Xbox chips using wires to conect to the mobo of the Xbox and not that pin thing, i hope you know what i'm talking about, what should i do there.

Install that pin thing or install wires then solder the wires to my chip?

Also i'm not sure what cd's or dvd's my xbox can read, is there anyother way for me to install the bios.

You spoke of a auto installer, so when i go into Xbins i type AID v2 (or) v3 and for the bios do i type X2 5035, to find them?

And with that auto installer will it partision my hard drive?

Also i want to go to Xbox live and down load some Halo maps ect, will i still be able to do that with the chip installed.

And i have some game saves on the original xbox hard drive is there anyway to transfer them to the new hard drive?

the pin head install is the best way to install you chip
try media dvd-r or cd-rw to flash bios with use cd-rw first
you need to get bios from #xbins it is not a internet site here how you get bios you need

x2 5035 for v1.0 to v1.5 xboxs
x2 5035 v16 plus for v1.6 and v1.6b xboxs

auto installer deluxe 3 will set up you xbox
if you put a bigger hard drive in it will set it up
if you are not just using m/s hard drive all you need to do is install a dash as well as apps you wish to install
do not use softmod option in auto installer deluxe 3

Okay i understand everything but how do i back up my old Xbox hard drive.

And is there anyway to take my game saves from it and put it in the biger drive.

Also it looks like the "Aid" site is getting hammered, any other place i can get it from?

Also just to make sure the diagrams for the X3 chip is the same for the X2.6?

Cause they say that in the title when i click on X2.6 diagrams.

you need to install chip flash with bios then put AID3 dvd in xbox reboot then ftp (network) to your xbox with flashfxp then transfer C/ and E/ folder to you pc
there is a progam called game save mannage that go,s on your pc that will save you saves to your pc then once you have installed bigger h/d put them back on
for aid3 try xbins for bittorret site seed

A few more things,

This what i need to do in order:

1.Install mod chip X2.6 using the X3 diagrams cause they are the same.

2.Leave my original Xbox hd inside the Xbox put the bios for the chip on a dvd and put that in the Xbox.

3.Flash chip with bios on disk.

4.Then run a ftp program to send my game saves to my PC.

5.turn off Xbox.

6.Put in new 300gig hd.

7.Create a dvd with AID 3 and put dvd inside Xbox.

8.Follow instructions, to create partions.

9.copy back save game files to Xbox's new hd.

...................

Is that right what i said above?

1...And how many partions should i create.

2..where should i put the main o/s or file that are going to make my Xbox work(in which partion)?

3..In which partion do i put my save games that are on my PC to?

Help me...

The X2 bios doesn't have an FTP server in it, so you will have to boot a dashboard with one. Any dashboard will have one.

1. How is your bios setup? It is easiest just to let the F partition take up the rest of the drive.
2. It doesn't really matter where you put the dashboard. I put them on the F partition.
3. Put them in your E partition. There will be three folders in your existing E partition, just back all of those up to your computer, and then copy them back.

1..Okay, what dash board do you recomend, and should i install a dashboard on the original ms hd so then i will be able to ftp to my PC?

2..How many partions do you recomend, please psecify(also i am going to get a 300gig hd), like 3 parts: C,D,E or more?

3..Got the last part so i just do every thing from no. 1 to 3 then install a dashboard on the MS hd so i can ftp?

4..then i do every thing else.

Is that right now?

the best way is get download of auto installer deluxe 3 it will setup new hard drive for you then install ms dash as well as other dash i use XBMC as main dash with xleashX and AnOd-x ass a app in XBMC then with quick start x3 bios option i can boot into avalaunch when booting xbox then i can change the bios switch settings to boot useing x2 bios that boots to evox dash a good beginers dash
do not use the softmod option in AID3

Okay tell me ater i get this mod chip install is there any way to use Xbox live? I need to go there to down load some maps... is that posible?

Also after i get that "auto installer deluxe 3" and put it on a CD-RW and put that CD in my Xbox....does it have a dashboard included?
