What does the updated allow or do?

ALso so is this what i should do:

1.Open Xbox follow the instructions and install that pin head thing,
(By the way is the pin head a good way cause to install the chip, cause i was reading arround here and some people say it is a pain, cause it can come loose and the mod chip is heavy so it sort of puts pressure on thouse pin heads).

And the thing is move my Xbox alot so when i do finish the mod it needs to stay in place.

2.Any way so i finish install the mod chip with either that pin head or just with wires, and then i must try to bood using eiter banks and see if i get a bule screen?

3.Now i install the bios for the X2.6 chip?

4.Then i must leave my MS hard drive and Put that DVD with AID3 in and install a dashboard, so i can ftp to my PC? SO i can transfer my game saves.

Also do i install a dashboard in the f: drive of the MS hard drive?

5.Okay after that i off the Xbox then put the the new hard drive in, and put that AID dvd back in the drive and install what ever?

6.Thats it?

.................................................
...............................................

I made then all questions so if i wrote somthing wrong then could you please correct it.

Did i miss anything?

No need to install a dashboard, just run one from a CD/DVD that has an FTP server.

No, just install them to the F drive.

1. It allows you to rip games from the disc to the hard drive.
2. See #1.
3. The Xbox drives are locked with a password that "marries" them to the EEPROM. They can't be moved from Xbox to Xbox without being unlocked. I'm not sure why you would unlock your original drive though.

Okay so i:

1.. install my mod chip.

2..put the Xbox on and see if i get a blue screen.

3..Install a bios for the chip.

4..put a cd or dvd into the dvd rom drive (that has AID 3) and run a dashboard from it so i can ftp to my pc(store my games there).

5..shut down the Xbox.

6..put new hard drive in.

7..put cd or dvd that has AID 3, then install everything i need.

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Also for "step7": should i unlock a the new hard drive?

Is there any thing you would change?

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

A...Also so if i get the X2.6 i will be able to store my Xbox games to my New hard drive?

B...How do i make a back up of my games to a dvd?

C...What make hard drive is a good one to get and how many games can i save on a 300 gig hard drive?

Thanks for the help guys.

Yes, your steps look fine. The new drive will be unlocked. You only need to lock it if you want to play on live.

A. Yes
B. Why bother? Copy them to your hard drive and store the original.
C. Look in my sig for a list of lockable drives.

The reason i want to make a back up of my games on a dvd is cause i don't think all my games will fit on a 300Gig hard drive.

Also i don't wana buy games that i already have again, what i mean is i had to buy NFS:un2... 2 times cause the first disk got scrached and does not work at all, i tried it on over 12 of my friends Xbox's but no luck.

Thats why i try not to use my Xbox that much, so atleast when i get the mod chip installed i can finilly play my games.

Also is there any way to go on Xbox live with the chip installed, cause somtimes i like to play there and download maps and stuff and i know that if the mod chip is enabled when you go on Live you will get banned, i don't want to cheat or anything.

Also can i play a game on Xbox Live that is stored on my hard drive or download stuff for it?
Or do i have to use my orginals?

I have about 40 games on a 160 gig drive. I find it hard to believe you would be able to fill a 300 gig drive.

That's why you rip them to the drive and store them. No more need to use the disc.

Turn the chip off, and you should be fine on live.

No, only originals on live.

40 games on a 160 gig hard drive? WOW i thought the games for the Xbox are on dvd's?

Are you sure you managed to store 40 games on your 160Gig hard drive?

Cause for eg. 1 Xbox dvd should be 4.7Gigs and if you take:

4.7 Gigs * 40 games = 188 Gigs ...You need a 188Gigs for 40 games.

Any way so if i wanted to go online i would need to:

1..start up my Xbox with the mod off(use AID3 to make my hard drive locked)

2..Use my original game disk

3..download any maps and stuff

4..shut Xbox down

5..start Xbox up with mod enabled and play (with out the game dvd) with the new maps i downloaded.

Is that right?

You assume every game uses the entire DVD, which couldn't be farther from the truth. But I appreciate you telling me what I have seen first hand is wrong.

Yes.
