I am obsessed

so i just recently got a 360 from a friend he did not want it because it kept giving him an unplayable disk error even with original games. He told me he never modded it and i believe him because when i took it apart i discovered it was a samsung ms 25 drive and when i flashed it i did not need to disable the firmguard. i used my usb and ixtreme 1.2 revc to flash the drive. The flash seemed to go well i dumped the old firmware and loaded the new stuff i even backed up the orig.bin file. sadly it kept giving me the unplayable disk error. I have tried reflashing it to no avail. It goes thru the process ok but when i try to play a disk it does not work(dvd's and cd's work fine though) I am at my wits end i don't know how to get this thing to work. I think perhaps i might need a new laser or a new dvd drive. If anyone out there knows what to do or has any suggestions i will be thankful to read them.

yup new laser will fix this problem ... i think theres a tutorial on replacing it in this site sumwhere ? and for the laser check ebay !!!

Got the laser followed easy tutorial successfully installed it. Play dvd first to see if it was working & it worked. Then i put in a backup copy of Halo 3 it worked i jumped for joy (literally) I was so stoked then after the whole intro passed and the game was loading to play i get the blasted unreadable disk error please clean disk with soft cloth and try again. I tried other backups and they wont even start up. i have not tried it on an original game yet. i will rent one from the blockbuster tonight to see if they work. i dont know why it is not letting me play. I am now using iextreme 1.2 slow firmware. Any suggestions on what the problem could be???

one problem i see, is how can you have a backup with out a orig game
that being said
i would go back to orig firmware .
then start over do a new idump let it build a new hacked firmware then iflash it.

Got it to work turns out the backed up games that a friend gave to me were bad burns. I was able to borrow a burned game that was proven to work on another machine and the box was able to play it. I am so relieved i thought i was an idiot for not being able to follow the simple directions in Textbook's tutorial.
