C'mon now... just because they haven't said anything doesn't mean that they've given up on the idea entirely.

i don't think i've ever heard of teamx giving up on a project. Just because they haven't mentioned anything about it lately doesn't mean it's gone. people are constantly asking for info on different projects, xecuter probably doesn't have time to go and answer every lil thread. When he has big news, it gets posted so try to be a lil patient.

patience - although, your above comment is an intricate way into getting them to update

give them some time, things like this don't happen overnight.

no news isn't bad news and what do you even want them to say to you? We know they are making progress and we know they wont just give up. Do you really think it would make business (I know it's not all about the $$) sense to go shouting about what they are making? there would be people stealing work all over the place if it was all open source and daily open discussions on what they were doing.

something as nice as the PSP isn't going to sink and be forgotton they just dont want to make 'we're working on it' comments all the time becuase it'd make them look slightly foolish. I'd rather just feel content that they are working hard for us and taking it easy while they do it, I would :)

i think the 1.5 question it´s answered... sorry for team xecuter but somebody was quicker...

FROM PS2NFO:

""BREAKiNG NEWS: Homebrew on v1.50 PSP! Posted By: PS2NFO.COM On Yesterday 02:22 AM
Update #2: PaWsTick from the PsP-Dev Team has now confirmed that their exploit does NOT run on v1.51 firmware either, so $ony did a nice quick job of fixing their 1.50 holes it appears. On the bright side, many in the USA already have a v1.50 PSP... and those who don't can still run out and grab one without the fear of it being a later firmware version for the time being.

Update: PaWsTick from the PsP-Dev Team has now confirmed that their exploit does NOT run on v1.52 firmware. They haven't tested it on v1.51 yet, but rest assured we'll mirror a news update here with the results when they do. I'm glad I didn't update my firmware though beyond v1.50 just in case.

CybBlade of our Forums (and iRC EFnet #PS2Ownz) confirmed tonight that PsP-Dev now have a working v1.50 exploit for running "homebrew" or unsigned code from it, similar to what NEM did for v1.00 firmware PSP users. A brief video of this in action can be found on their Web site HERE for those interested, and on 6/15/2005 (15:00 GMT+1) they plan to publically disclose the method used in Tutorial format to the world! We at Team PS2NFO congratulate our Spanish affiliates, and look forward to LOTS of nice "homebrew" releases to follow along with even more UMD dumps! Please post all related feedback on this VERY COOL news in THIS on-going Forum thread. Finally, we'd like to make it known that the legitimacy of this news has already been 100% confirmed by myself via high-ranking scene elders... so no, this is NOT another "fake video" nor publicity stunt- it's REAL!

It appears PSP-Dev is releasing an exploit for a buffer overflow, the exploit being a loader for unsigned/unencrypted ELFs. While that is a major hack and deserves props, it isn't the Holy Grail yet - the proof being that this exploit fails to work on v1.51 and v1.52.
Perhaps TeamX is working on a more permanent solution that works with any PSP, any firmware, or on a mechanism to load dumped UMDs. We won't know until they release something, IF they release something. If not then TeamX is to be congratulated on their great work on the XboX.

ByteMaster, I agree, I've been keeping quiet since I got my Jap 1.5 PSP. You all know the products that TeamX produce, no shoddy sh*te, you get the full deal, the job lot. They don't release stuff half arsed.
Got to say I'm fed up of waiting as I was with the X3, but look what we got from waiting there, the most advanced Xbox chip out!! You all know it's gonna be great........Just wait.

And if you get bored waiting, just come on the forums and read about people moaning how they can't wait anymore!!

I dont wanna burst your bubbles but that 1.5 cracking stuff I think has a 90% chance of being BS. The video is sketchy, the website is rubbish and ps2nfo's confirmation of it working means nothing.

I would love to see this loader come out but I dont think those guys are the ones to do it. I am more than prepared to eat my words but for now I am not convinved. I think they are just wasting people's time.

Also you know teamX are gonna do better than just one loader. but this would be a huge advancement if it came true...let's just wait and see eh? :)

i'm not being compleatly negitive I just dont want people to raise their hopes over something that's not true. They have released a new video now and I must admit it's much more convincing that the last one.

I can't help it if I dont trust a dark video from a website that's offline all the time and backed up by ps2ownz. If you belive stuff like that then you must get constantly taken for a ride becuase it looked like proper BS.

The new video which is out shows Zelda being played and quit and then a shot of the 1.5 firmware in system settings. This is much more convinciable and I am begiinning to belive it could be real.

Also what does it matter to you what I think. I mearly gave out the facts in case people who hadn't been following this suddenly got exicted or whatever.

As for eating my d**k i'd rather not, but thanks for adding that in becuase it really showed your intelligence, moron.

Roll on tomorrow

You actually are.

Just think about the time when XBOX first came out, someone thought of putting a mod-chip in an XBOX..I don't think everyone had high hopes either. Go back in time and tell people we can run emulators and backed-up games through a mod-chip and they would give the same feedback as youre giving with this excellent project. No, it may not have fully bloomed and there has been a bunch of BS floating around, but give it time and people will make the PSP definitely worth its price.

so what? I was stating my opinion off the facts that I had seen at that time. I said that I would like for this to be real and that i'd take back what I said if it was, which I am. If you belived too that this was real from the beginning then you also are too trustworthy of what people tell you. I think i'm allowed to be dubious of what was given to us from the beginning. Me appearing negitive to you doesn't do any harm it's just better than people going 'OMG OMG this is da sh*t woo yay' - what use is that? I'd rather peopel took the time to see if things were real or not and then cast their own opinions on things.

The new video gives much more proof that this is real. It's not 100% proof becuase it's still just a video but it's hard to deny that this is real. I am looking forward to this coming out becuase all it's done is cause pointless bitching over many psp forums.

like I said before, roll on wedneday.

If this is a fake, I'll hand it to PSP-Dev, hes a damn good video editor.

Never did, I was proving a point using the facts dated back to when the first mod-chip for XBOX was being developed. No harm taken.

I'd rather peopel took the time to see if things were real or not and then cast their own opinions on things.
We have taken time, twice. Both times were scammers who acted like they had accomplished something with the PSP, they didn't. I think a third attempt will make people more less patient to even see if its real. I would think PSP Dev would not take the chance in putting a rep on the line for something this highly expected.

like I said before, roll on wedneday.
Agreed.

sounds good to me.

All i was saying originally was that the first vid was really shoddy, I am sure you both agree. The second video has convinced me beyond belief. I think this has a very high chance of being real but I wouldn't belive it compleatly untill we all had it in our hands. The only reason for that is becuase of the nature of video, we've all seen UFO's and whatever on video but i'd only belive aliens visited us if I saw one or if I had it from a highly credibly source (maybe not even family)...but yeah i'm going off topic quite badly, sorry.

either way we have to wait 3 hours, so bring it on :)

i'm glad it works! (seriously!)

I am gutted it's so bitching to do though (memory stick swapping). I've also read reports of having messed up memory cards, but they seem repairable in a normal card reader for a PC/MAC USB mode or PSP format doesn't seem to repair them.

good luck to anyone that tries it, let's hope they release the source :)
