I'm trying to flash my drive to make it a Kreon drive. I bought this drive TS-H353A and I'm trying to flash it via the SH-D163A drivers. I get an error saying that the firmware is not compatible. Am I doing something wrong? I'm reading the "How to upgrade" file and I'm doing everything correctly, just not sure if the drive is compatible.
EDIT: The drive is working. Played The Departed and watched the whole movie.

jenkosz there are only certain drives that can use the kreon firmware and they are the "TSST corp SH-D162C" the "163C" and another 1 i think, cant remember the other drive. you can get these cheap enough off ebay or type in kreon in a search bar and you should find 1 there. most dvd+r dl burners will burn your backups its just a matter of testing yours with some dvd+r dl media, but you're better off getting the latest firmware for your writer if any is available.

Ive figured it out I've searched everywhere and I was on www.xbox-scene.com and have found my fix.

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=541448

I ran the cmd function and started the program with -no check and it worked/

Start>Run> type in cmd or command
In the command line type chdir=" the path to the file (not in quotes) " -no check

Yeah, sorry. If I wouldn't have been so busy, I would have told you how that to begin with, but it seems like you found it. Well, glad you got it flashed.
