Hi,

I'm trying to get into Mode B for a 78 Hitachi by using the SLAX 2.1 method.

Here are my mobo specs:

Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
Model: Goldfish 2
Chipset: Intel i915P/i915G
Southbridge: Intel 82801FB (ICH6)

I load up the disc, and it gets past the spining up disc error (the time when you have to eject the tray), and then it just gives out a bunch of SQASHFS errors. I've included a screen.

I tried unplugging my HD and other drives I don't need, but nothings working. Are my BIOS settings wrong?

Please, can anyone help me. I've gone too far already...

Sorry, but I also forgot to mention that the SLAX logo does not appear, but rather a big white void replacing it. Does this matter?

Here are some photos of my BIOS. I can't seem to find RAID...

Main:

Advanced 1:

Advanced 2:

I've also tried burning the SLAX Disc at slower speeds like 2x, but I still get the same error.

Thanks for your time.

i think i would get the slax again and burn again.if its booting from you cd then the bios should be fine.i think
now there is just something going on with your slax.
get a copy of the slax from some where else.

I can't really. I've got SLAX from everywhere, and I've burned it many times. I still get the same error.

Getting my 78 into Mode B was a pain in the ass as well. I did two things and am not sure which worked but I did get into Mode B after this. First I would burn the older version of Slax and try that. Second, and what was most likely what worked, was I didn't use the timing that the tutorial says where you start the PC and 360 at the same time. Instead, I turned on the PC first and after it had done some loading I turned on the 360 and it did everything it was supposed to do. I've never seen your error before so I may be way off but it wouldn't hurt to try.
