I tried 3 different controller's then the TV remote was the only thing that worked!!! then I would get "Unknown flash! halting" and because of the all post I tried about 25 settings on the switch and just as many bios files, then I read don't even use the switch so I tried all the bios files I had just to get the same message AGAIN then I read that the switch on the modchip can be lable wrong sometimes SO with the modchip in the "Protect" setting and NO switch and useing the Xbox TV remote I was able to Flash my modchip!!! Who ever made this X3 modchip needs there A$$ kick for about a week because that's how long it took me to flash it.

If you're getting the "Unknown Flash! Halting" error, look on your chip. There was a period in time where Xecuter inadvertantly labeled their chips in reverse (red=protect; green=unprotected).

As for your controller dilemma have you been plugging the Microsoft controller into the 1st controller socket? If you are using a Microsoft manufactured controller in Socket/Port 1 it should work. If not, no big deal you'll most likely never deal with it again (unless the actual port is non-functional).

I apologize for that post, I know I should read everything, but as soon as I read about him mentioning the "Unknown Flash! Halting" message I immeadately thought: mislabeled chip!

Why? Do you, DJB, know of anything else that causes a flash to halt w/ that error?
