I have the same problem. I have a v1.6 xbox and x3 chip with the v1.6 LPC workaround. The bios readme.txt say to use bios 1959_v1.6plus for xbox version 1.6. The X2 bios manager will not load the v1.6plus bios into any of the banks. So I cannot put the correct bios into my X3 chip. The x2 bios manager load the 1959 bios no problem but will not load the 1959_v1.6plus bios. I got both of these bioses from XBINs on mIRC. Please help if you have any info at all on this issue. Thank you very very much.

ok, so if I do not need x2 bios manager, then I guess I just rename the x3_1959_v1.6plus file to BIOS.BIN? Load a dummy file and the bios file on a CD-RW. Cause i can get my Flashbios v3.0.1 to load and flash my bios using x2 bios manager to set up the x3_1959 then using CD-RW burned from nero using all of the correct settings i found on the xecuter site. The FlashBIOS runs ok and flashed the 1mb flash. My banks are set to 1 and 2. Then it shuts itself down. But when I reboot it just FRAGS. When I read the readme for the x3 bios it says to make sure to use the v1.6plus bios for my v1.6 xbox. Do I just reanme that 1.6 bios? It doesnt load into x2 bios manager. What procedure do I use for loading my v1.6plus bios onto my CD-RW so I can flash it using CD-RW?

im new at this too ...just modded my boy with the x3 ...ok
when you down load your bios use the one in the zip with the 1.6 on the end rename this to bios.bin burn to disk with the padded file .
set bank 1 and 2 to on 3and 4 to off use the diskflash util on the dashboard and watch it load worked for me ! hope this helps

I understand about the x2 bios manager not being needed as the bin file is correct. Thank you for your help I am leaving work to go home and try that. I assume colin was talking about FlashBios as being the "diskflash" utility on the dashboard. BTW, is Flashbios the ONLY way to flas an X3 bios?

Once you have the X3 bios flashed to the chip, you can use X3ConfigLive to flash too. Its under Bios Tools or something - if I weren't at work I could tell you for sure. But it will allow you to flash any of the banks (including the backup bank). That is, of course, assuming you got the X3 bios on there to begin with.Jamminjay said:

been talking to xecuter and sounds a great product. the cuts still need to be made and then repaired with the conductive glue that comes with it. cant wait for this. been holding off for this as my soldering is poor.

if your good at soldering then id solder but this will be aimed more at people who cant solder and for modders who want to reuse over and over without having to keep buying lt switches. makes sense to me to pay the initial £12 and then just keep reusing it.
