Hello Everyone,

I have just started getting into recycling old RROD 360's. I picked up to that where RROD'd and fix the them No more RROD then when I plugged it in and started it up I was connected to the InterWebs and I hit update as I didn't know how long they had been sitting. It started the update then went black and came up with the black screen with the error code E79. I shut down the system removed the hard drive the 20GB and then came up with a white screen with :

"can't read the update from your 360 hard drive. Please reattach it. Your console will automatically restart and continue the update."

Status code: 445E - 4467 - 2380 - 0F00 - C000 - 0034

I did the hex on the second set = 17511.

As these are box I picked up for free I don't know if they where modded. Or if they are how to check to see what type of modding was done as I didn't see any out of the ordinary soldiering I can only concluded it would be software modded.

What I have tried;

Tried the sync button = No Joy
I didn't have a cd in the drive at the time so NO need on that trick.
I have looked up the update I needed but could not download from the sites that had it.

What I need to know.

1. How do I now tell if they where in fact software modded
2. If they are can i end this loop?
3. is there a way to revert this back to Factory setting?

What I have to work with;

I have 4 hard drives 1 20GB, 1 60GB, 1 120GB, 1 250GB. the one 60 GB is on a working un-modded 360 core.

Have a HDD transfer cable
Have access to a computer that can be used to D/L and hook up the DVD player if need.
Have 8 GB usb thumb drive
Have 250MB memory card for the xbox.

and I willingness to learn how to beat the loop!!

Thank you for your replies in advance.
