Okay, I've modded two xboxes before versions 1.0 and 1.1 about a year and a half ago, so I figured modding this xbox (a 1.0) would be just as easy as the others were.

Well this is the problem, I'm using an xecuter 2.6 CE on this 1.0 xbox and the installation went just fine. I installed it using the xapter solderless install. The blue light turns on and the green light turns on as well on the switch. The install worked fine.

The problem is the bios flashing. I had it on bank 1, flash off, and chip enable on and it loaded up the cromwell flashbios 3.0.3. I went with the flashing through HTTP method just because it seemed faster. I typed in the network IP the xbox gave me and it brought me to the flashing page. I flashed it with the "evox v2.6 - v1.0.bin" (256k) and it turned off like it is supposed to. I then tried turning it on and it didn't work, just restarted 3 times then stayed on flashing green/red (fragged). So I switched to bank 2 and flashed it with the flashbios again to redo the flash. I switched to bank 1 and the flashbios loaded up again just fine. I then flashed it with the "xecuter2_4978.3_xboxMulti_512k.bin" it then turned off like supposed to. I turned it on right after and it booted to the xbox dashboard, so with the flash working I wanted to go back to the flashbios and put the evox bios in to install evolution x.

This is where everything went to hell. I flashed it with the flashbios and now I can't start the xbox with the chip on bank 1, it just turns on, restarts 3 times and frags. And then the problem evolved. Switching back to bank 2 I can no longer connect to it through my computer with the HTTP method, it just times out (the page won't load but my internet is fine). Now, when I go to the HTTP method, I'm not even given an IP address for the xbox.

Okay, so what do I do now?

I can summarize some questions.

1. Which bios then should I use for evoX? - I used the m8 256k from xbins but it failed to work.

2. With the chip now on bank 1, it doesn't start up, it just reboots 3 times and then frags. I can also no longer flash the flashbios on bank 2 to restart this whole process. What can I do?

3. Does anyone know why I can't connect via HTTP anymore? it just times out.

those are old bioses you are using
you cannot flash a 256k bios to the chip, it will cause a frag
it must be 512k

forget the evox bios, you don't need to use an evox bios to run the evox dash on your box
get the latest X2 5035 bios from xbins

if bank 2 works then you can put a dash on there like evox (tutorial of getting evox running on your box)
http://www.teamxecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23863

get a program from xbins called FlashX and ftp it over as an application under your dash
next, make a folder called bios and place the X2 5035 vOld version (for v1.0 box) bios in it and ftp that folder over to the root any drive (c,e,f,g)

disable flash protect on the box and boot up and launch the app
follow the screen instructions and choose the drive you placed the bios folder in, and it will prompt you to choose which banks to flash, in your case since bank 1 is not working, you'd select banks 1+2 to be flashed over with the new bios

Well it seems after I left it alone for a bit and came back I could reconnect through HTTP.

Thanks for the information though MKChampion, I appreciate it. I loaded the bios in you said and it loaded up fine, I'm installing evoX as I type this now.

Thanks again, I feel very relieved now! haha
