I have a bad switch...plus fragging

Ok I modded my 1.0 xbox with an xecuter 2.6ce using the wires method. Problem was, whenever i booted the xbox, all i would get was the MS dash. I resoldered everything and tried everything and nothing would work. I even tried using a programmer on the chip but it wouldnt detect my chip. So i thought I had a bad chip.. well my friend brings his xbox over and I steal his switch out of curiosity and now it frags when the chip is enabled. So I guess my chip isnt bad but my switch must be cause I cant even get fragging with my switch. Anyway if it frags there is a problem with my LPC point soldering right? I think im gonna see how much one of those multimeters are... and i tried to flash the chip with my old switch with a programmer and it erased my bios and started to flash but then hung up. Now it wont even detect my chip but it will detect my friends chip. how can i get a new bios on there. Ive tried hotswapping already too

firstly a FRAG can also be caused by a bad bios flash.

If your switch is genuinely faulty why not return it for a replacement.

I am returning the chip and switch for new ones. Second, its not a bad flash because it frags with my friends modchip who has a good bios flashed already..

If a known good chip frags, you have a problem with your install since you were able to eliminate the switches as a possible problem.

Be sure that your friends version is is not a 1.6, becuase that makes a whole nother world of things. Some newer bioses for 1.6 are for 1.6

I have the same problem. A bad switch for a 2.6. Just wondering when and where you got your chip, there could be a bad batch on switches.

I had the same problem, and by coincidence, my friend modded two of my V1.6
One works fine, the other just stalls as soon as i turn the xbox on. And yes both have the same flash bios. Its wierd because I swapped chips and they seem to work fine, but i didnt change the switches while i was swapping the chips. I ordered my chips from divineo because system mods are a piece of shyt. Sorry for the vulgarity.
