Hey guys, I know this may be a stupid question, but I am just trying to figure out where to go from here. I have installed my X3, it seems to be running great. I have installed X3 1959, this seems fine as well.Other than games, i wanted to be eable to stream mp3's through it.
I was trying to put evox on using these directions: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act=ST&f=16&t=89545. I created an ISO but the xbox does ot regognize this.
I guess my question is, do I need EVOX to use different dashes or can i do it all with the X3 1959. I just can't seem to find out how to access all the features.
I am having FTP trouble...there are many, many posts on this i know. I have been reading them I assure you. I can ping it and everything so it is there, but FlashXp won't hook up nor with the Network setup via the Xbox. I have a local network off a router, there is a 'workgroup' name (i was thinking this may have something to do with my troubles)

Any ideas or suggestions would be awesome.

Thanks

Hey,
The first thing you ned to do is go back over to www.xbox-scene.com. click tutorials and read every one under the "Beginners/General Guides" section.

You can't stream mp3's through evox you need Xbox Media Center.

The 1959 bios allows you to mod the xbox nothing more. It has nothing to do with installing applications to the xbox.

As for the ISO not reading and not being able to FTP. Did you rename the evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe?
It's a boot disc so you know you need to turn the xbox off then back on with the disc in the drive right?
Did you edit the evox.ini file for your network before you burned the disc?
Those directions you used are for a direct link not a router.
You should do a search here and on the internet to learn some basic networking skills.

Thank....i will keep reading, I did edit evix.ini adding my network setup (ip, subnet and gateway...etc, etc.) I also renamed it to the dash to default and i did restart it with the disk in there.

I will keep up the research...thanks

If it's not reading the disc it could be the media your using.
Did you use Quix to create the ISO and Nero to burn?

Once you get that boot disc working if your network is setup right you'll be able to FTP.

I used Craxtion4 to create it then used Nero to burn it to DVD. I will try the other program to see if thre is a difference.

Most up to date way to backup games?

Well I just ordered a Samsung D162D and a Pioneer 116D from http://www.wilcoxiv.com/. After ordering I read somewhere that using Kreon drives on games past wave 3 is not recommended. What is the alternative to using Kreon drives? Really I just want to know the most up to date and accepted version of backing up my games.

Re: Most up to date way to backup games?

Most people use a spare 360 drive and flash the 0800 firmware to it then use xbox backup creator to rip the game.

Re: Most up to date way to backup games?

Is it just easier to use a 0800 drive or is it also much safer? I can patch my game isos to SSV2 if that's possible but if that runs the risk of getting banned ill just get a new drive to rip with
