I keep getting Error Code 2144-0001 when I try to access the Album after booting into SXOS

My details:

***
System FW 5.1.0
SX OS 2.9.5 beta

Error Code: 2144-0001
Oops! Something went wrong.
....
***

I have tried using a different boot.dat file (different SXOS) but still get the same error.

I have used a different, brand new SD card, freshly formatted to FAT32, has 3 files on it (boot.dat, license.dat, SXDumper.nro) and still have this issue.

If I boot into OFW, I can open the Album fine (there are no images, so the default 'tutorial' shows).

What can I do to fix this? Thank you.

The only time I get this error it is connected to a corrupt file. Did you recently install a game to system memory? If so try uninstalling. Do you use Emunand? The OFW 5.1.0 update caused this for many people. Something to do with memory resources. Usually a hard reset fixed it. You could find a cart to update OFW or use the "match version with local users" if you have another switch. Choijour also ahs a PC version. The reasons for staying low on OFW really not needed anymore. I do keep my switch OFW behind the CFW at least a few versions until several months or longer after a new update so I can revert for stablility if needed.

I have uninstalled everything on the Switch and deleted all my save files on the Switch. I still get the error message.

I do no use Emunand.

My next step is to do the hard reset.

I booted up my Switch recently just so that I can update it to 10.0.0 to play the latest games. I have not purposely kept it on old OFW. It's just been a long time since I played with the Switch.

I would learn about Emunand and use it. Helps stop chance of damaging NAND. Stumped on error. I have had the error but very random and not sure of reason I get it .

I don't think Emunand was available when I last used Switch and SX Pro? I think it was last used in 2018 because that's the datestamps on all the files on the SD card. Which was why I wanted to update the OFW but couldn't because of the 2144 error.

OK, I have now done the Factory Reset. I still get the 2144 error when I boot into SX OS and try to access the Album.

If I boot to OFW, I can access the Album fine (there's nothing in there though).

I don't know what to do from here.

Have you updated tp 10.0 yet? SXOS is working on 10.0 so an update may help and would not stop you from SXOS. May fix the error since it will rewite firmware files.

No. Like I said initially, I'm on 5.1. I can't update because I can't access the Album. I need this issue fixed so that I can update.

I'm trying to figure out if I can update without accessing the Album.

Yes, I saw that before.

> using the computer and your switch only

Not quite? I need a USB C cable?, which I have already ordered online. Not sure when it will get here though.

Why do you need to go to album to update? If you want to update switch, boot up OFW, go to settings, system and update.
That means I need to connect to the internet? I'm afraid of connecting the Switch to the net just in case of bans. Is it safe? Even if booting up in OFW, aren't there logs on the console that may reveal that I've used SX OS?
UPDATE:

I was able to use a different CFW and different payload to update to 10.0.1. And now, I can use SX Pro fine. Album error has been resolved.

You can also update with a game cartridge or by local play such as animal crossing. It is mainly for updates but will update firmware if needed.
You have options to use Chourjour. You can use SXOS to run it or use PC version and update that way or (nothing against SX) use atmosphere or reinx. SXOS is my prefered CFW but sometimes it will not do what I need so I use others. I personally would just use another CFW and run ChoijourNX it's the easiest and most stable way. When your updated format card add needed files then run SXOS and setup Emunand.

When you initially setup SXOS, don't copy over everything on the first go. I've had this issue before. I just do the boot.dat first by itself, no licensing or apps yet. It'll do its thing and tell you to upgrade or whatever. After that, copy over the licence file and setup the emunand.
