I think I may have messed up my X3.
It's worked fine for a few weeks. I wanted to update the backup/flashbios (from 3.00 to 3.03). I wasn't able to find instructions anywhere on how to do that, (I just noticed the recently posted sticky, which doesn't help me at the moment), so I took a gamble and set all the switches to off (assuming if the main bank was off, the flash would map to the backup bios). Yes, I should know better, but I wanted to try since I couldn’t find a straight answer anywhere on how it’s done (at the time).
Well the flash went fine, but on reboot I got Flashbios 3.03 instead of the X3 bios (because like a dumb ass I flashed to the 2 meg main bank instead of the backup, which I understood after I finally found a list for the switch settings).
So I have Flashbios 3.00 on the backup, and Flashbios 3.03 on the main bank. Now I should be able to reflash off a CD and restore a one-meg bank to an X3 bios, but the Flashbios menu doesn’t work. I can’t select anything at all (I can see the text, but the controller won't select/highlight anything). I’m really not sure what to do at this point.
It wouldn’t be a controller issue, would it? I have two wireless controllers (Mad Katz and Logitech), and a Saturn pad (with a Lik Sang convertor), but no normal Xbox controller. It still should work… the menu doesn’t respond to anything I do on the controller (whether I use 3.00 on the backup or 3.03 on the main). If I boot to the MS Dash (to set time), the controllers work fine.
Anyone have any insight?
Thanks!
I have a 1.0 box btw...
