First off, I have a xecuter 2.3 lite in my xbox with a 120 gigabyte hard drive. I used to be able to connect my xbox to my friend's router, but I guess I messed up my .ini file when I tried to lock my hard drive. I locked it but I can't connect through the router anymore. Instead of say that I have a DHCP connection, I have a static connection throuth the router.
If someone knows how to fix my xbox and put dvd2xbox and some other stuff I need on here and stays within 1 hour driving distance of Nashville, TN I will pay you to finish it up for me because I have been trying to finish it up for 5 months.
I also have two network interface cards(NIC) and I have tried to connect that way too. On both, the settings on Evox shows that I have a static address, but when I try and connect through FlashFXP, all it says is "Connection timed out".
I also cannot find any of the applications anymore because the website that I found no longer has them. I have them on my computer at home but I am upl in school and I'm not going home for a while. I also do not know the "usual places" that everybody talks about on here. I just want to backup my games. Help PLEASE!!!!!!!!

Well you dont know how to use the "usual places" so your just sitting there doing nothing, when you could be heading ove to x-s or doing a search for the usual places or even going to xbins.org and try to learn it for your self.

Really the walk through is so easy that anyone can learn it.

You also say it changed from a DHCP to a static connection.

Well go under your dashboards settings and change that from static to DHCP.

Post your PC network settings, and also the network settings from your EvoXi.ini file.

Might shed some light?

Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have put dvd2xbox on here and I am relieved. I had to put my Evox boot DVD in my drive and I can backup my games.
I had to use my friend's router to give me the DCHP address.

Even though I am through with what I want to do, I still need to be able to connect my xbox with my computer with two NIC's. When I go into my MS Dashboard Network settings it says automatic for the IP address.

On Evox, in the settings, it is as follows:
Type Static
IP 192.168.0.3
Line Staus 100/Full Duplex
Ethernet MAC address 00:50:F2:29:FE:01
Setup Network Yes
Use Static IP Yes
IP 192.168.0.1
Subnetmask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.1.1
DNS 0.0.0.0
DNS 0.0.0.0

I have went to the "Basic Networking Using Evolution X" and have read numbers of topics on this and I still haven't succeded. I don't think I have a special case or anything, I just hope you know what to do.

Thanks for the help!!!!

Ok then, for 2 NICs - copy what's below into the network settings in your EvoX.ini file.

SetupNetwork = Yes
StaticIP = Yes
Ip = 192.168.0.103
Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway = 192.168.0.1
DNS1 = 0.0.0.0
DNS2 = 0.0.0.0
SkipIfNoLink = No
SetupDelay = 0

Now, set your PC IP to something similar (NOT the same), i.e. 192.168.0.100, 255.255.255.0. Leave everything else as it is in the PC settings.

In DOS type ipconfig, if your IP address has been registered properly to the NIC, it should return the address you just set. If it's anything else, reboot the PC.

If the address is correct, and you've rebooted your Xbox, you should be able to Ping your Xbox from your PC, ping 192.168.0.103.

If a reply comes back, you should be able to FTP into your Xbox.
