Hello :) I've been reading alot of forum/tutorials before flashing my xbox 360
Today I tried to flash my xbox 360 but it didn't work, I got an error when reading SAM (xRead) :?

My dad told me that my SATA onboard wasn't supporting the "flash programs" or whatever
could he be right? Also, is the new Xtreme Boot Maker v0.5.3 supporting all of the "SATA onboard's"?
Btw I used a floppy to boot, my motherboard can't boot on USB Drive and the NTFS4CD didn't work, but the floppy did, so I just used a floppy to boot (Worked perfect)

I got an xbox 360 Toshiba Samsung ms28, I used Xtreme Boot Maker v0.5.3 and I made a Firmware 5.2d on a floppy to boot from

Can someone help me?

Your dad may be right. What sata chipset do you have? To be able to flash a ms28 using the bad flash method (read the tutorial), you need a via chipset. If you dont have a via chipset, you will have to use the VCC method (see tutorial), which requires removing an onboard resistor. You may want to invest in a pci via sata controller card.

Btw my SATA chipset is Silicon Image SIL3112 SATA Raid Controller

Is he okay? Or do I have to buy me a good SATA Card?

As stated in my first post, only VIA chipsets(not Silicon Image Chipsets) will work for the bad flash method. So, unless you want to take your drive apart, desolder a resistor on the control board, install a switch, flash your drive, and resolder the resistor, you need to buy a via.

Read textbooks tutorial about ms28's and the bad flash method. It clearly explains this.

Isn't there an easier way for me to flash my ms28 then soldering my xbox 360, I mean we're talking about an investment of ~ 400EUR and I don't wanna screw it up just by soldering my xbox 360?
Can't I just buying a SATA Card and use the bad flash method?

meh you wouldn't even have stumbled upon these problems if you would've read the tutorial properly... if you try flash ms28 with SIL chipset then your way off and i'm starting to think you easily mess it up
i suggest this great tutorial: :D

i think i have the very same issue here

i have a sata pci card , i purchased a via vt6421a and followed the steps to bad flash, when i get to connecting my 360 to my pc, i cann't get it to show

i bet its a problem with my computer setting, normally the solution is a very simple setting change, i just haven't figuered out mine yet, but hopfully on the forth try it might work for me
