Hi guys! I live in Pakistan. I own a Xbox 360 slim. Pakistan has a humid climate and it is very dusty here. So, the position where my TV is placed, my Xbox is placed at the same place. one day, I saw that my Xbox had a lot of dust on it, so I decided to clean it. I then later with a blower, blowed very slowly (very slowly!) into my Xbox to get rid of the dust. After that, my Xbox worked fine. Somedays later, it then began to occur a problem. After working for some period sometimes an hour or fifteen minutes, the power button goes off with a 'ding' and the console shut downs. It is very annoying. I need help. Other thing, these days, moisture is also kinda high so I am not sure what is causing the problem. Also, I have checked that the fan is working fine. Please help, friends!

To rule out the faceplate/ribbon being faulty disconnect the faceplate ribbon and see if the power off issue still happens. Obviously with the faceplate disconnected u will need to power the xbox on with the controller.

You need to disassemble the entire casing of an Xbox 360 slim in order to remove the faceplate. On the older phat 360's, the faceplate was interchangeable and could be simply just pulled off.

There are various tutorials to disassemble the Xbox 360 slim.

I followed this video a while back using just a small flat blade screwdriver and a credit card without even marking the case or snapping any plastic tabs.
