I really don't know what to do anymore! I am so lost when this happens, and I need some help.

When I open up Command Prompt and do the Flashing of the Firmware this is what comes up:

****************************************
* *
* Maximus-garyOPA: Xtreme v2.3 Stealth *
* HITACHI ALL VERSION 8in1 *
* *
* BASED ON THE WORK BY garyOPA *
* Updates your x360 DVD drive firmware *
* *
****************************************

Unable to create directory

Making BACKUP of your DRIVE KEY...

CreateFile() failed 2

ERROR: Hitachi drive build was NOT detected!

WARNING: One of THREE things could be wrong!

#1: Check to see if your drive is in Windows
#2: Make sure you are using the right letter
#3: Your x360 drive is not a working version

C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\X-LG>

I have checked all three of those things, and still this error pops up. Since my PC won't let me right-click on the file, and open in Command Prompt, I open the X-LG file, and then go to Start>Run>command, and it opens in the Command Prompt. I really don't know what to do anymore.

Well first what it is trying to do is make a directory or file to store your drive key .. but its failing

Also its not detecting your Xbox360 Drive

First Make sure the drive is in ModeB

Then make sure your computer recognizes the drive by opening "My Computer" and seeing if it is listed

Next I would download the CmdHere program so that you can right click the folder you want to open a command prompt for (you can find that link in Textbook's Tutorial on page 63 ) http://www.360mods.net/Downloads/get=61.html

My PC is running Windows ME edition. That program will work on only XP. So, do you have any other advice?
My drive is recognized in "My Computer", and I'm using the Xeno Connectivity Kit to connect it to my PC. I have SATA to USB.

I put the X-LG file in the C:/ drive, and it still comes up with the same message.

alright, I added you as a buddy.

If you don't like using MSN on your PC, you can go to Meebo.com. It has MSN, AOL, and Yahoo, and you can just sign in here, and don't have to download anything.

Try to get a copy of Windows XP or use another computer that has Windows XP installed.

Thanks Textbook for Replying! I'm just going to sell the SATA to USB converter, because according to other sites, it doesn't work when Flashing your Drive. So ya, it's up for sale on Ebay, and I purchased a SATA PCI Card on Newegg. In the reviews for this SATA PCI Card, someone said they used it to Flash their Xbox 360, and that it worked Great. So it should be in by the end of this week. Thanks for the help fellas.
