I just purchase a new xbox 360 about a month ago. I sent the 360 to get modded but I was told that this particular drive could not be flashed. So I purchase a different drive and sent it to get flashed. When I received it yesterday I installed it and it said System Error E66. So then I took the drive off and put it on my brothers 360 which is modded and the flashed drive that was flashed did not work on his. By me installing the flashed drive on my 360 did the drive get unflashed or corrupted. What can I do. Should I purchase an old 360 version.

The motherboard and DVD Drive are a matched pair and must both contain the same drive key.

The drive you tried putting into you and your brothers xbox will not have the same key as the motherboards and will therfore fail.

If the drive in the new xbox is a 0079 then you will need an external device such as a passkey or X79 to read the DVD key off the drive.

If the drive is a BenQ you will need to read THIS and get the key off.

Once you have the drive key you can then insert the DVD key into a hacked firmware and flash onto the replacement drive as a spoofed firmware. (If that is possible at this time) :?
