I need to build a new nand

I have a Falcon board. I have the cpu key and the dvd key in a text file but i saved the corrupted nand.bin and kv.bin instead of the clean copies. When I try to use them to build a freeboot image I get an error block 1, page 5, plane 0 is corrupted. Can i use a backup from a Xenon board? Or does it have to be a Falcon? I downloaded the clean Falcon nand in jtag tool, then tried injecting the kv.bin from my Xenon. Then used jtag tool and the cpu key from the Xenon to build a falcon freeboot.bin, it gives me no errors but when i flash it through xellous i just get christmas lights after the reboot.

It's gotta be a Falcon man you can't use a Xenon nand image and expect it to work. Though, I never encountered your problem, I think what you need do is check if that KV is type 1 or type 2 from the Xenon and if it that type matches the type for the Falcon then all is good, though you will need to decrypt the KV from the Xenon and recrypt it with the CPU key from the Falcon then you can insert into a donor nand and it should work.

I cant get any program to read the kv.bin from the falcon to see what type it is. I have tried everything, I have no idea where to look from here. I think I need a valid falcon keyvault to modify with my dvd and cpu key but I dont know where to find one.

Use 360 Flash Dump Tool. It will tell you everything about the kv and Nand as long as you put in the CPU key. Or I can build the nand for you if you wish. If you havea AIM we can talk on there if you'd like to pursue the second route.

I no longer have the corrupt files. I tried 360 flash tool, jtag tool, bincrypt, and kvmodder. All programs said invalid file or corrupt file and wouldn't open it, so I deleted them. I have the cpu and dvd keys saved in a notepad file. I assumed I could manually edit the clean falcon image I downloaded with these keys in a hex editor or something but Im not sure how to do that and I could not find it on google. If you can help in any way at all I would really appreciate it.

Also, It currently boots into xellous so once I get a good file I can update it with my flash drive easily. But when I turn it on with the power button it gives me the christmas lights.

You don't need to corrupt files. I can work with the keys. Im pretty sure a keyvault modder would help you create the kv and then you can inject it into the nand image.

It seems I built a good nand with bincrypt instead of kvmodder. It shows all good info when I open it in jtag tool and kvmodder now, but when I use jtag tool to create the 12625 it says crl data is corrupt or damaged but continues to create the file. I flashed it to the xbox and got christmas lights again, Any way that you know of to fix this?

Well trying making it manually via ffbuild. That's what I always do. Many of those automated tools give you weird stuff.

I did, I got the same results. I tried flashing through lpt and usb through xellous. All options lead to christmas lights. I even tried efb with the donor files checked. I have no idea what else I could do.

ok. Just for fun I opened jtag tool and done the repair bad nand option. Normally I would select the clean falcon nand to repair it with, it would repair it but only lead to christmas lights. This time I tried to repair my bad falcon nand with my good backup of my xenon nand.......IT WORKED!!!!! My xbox is fully working and jtagged with freeboot 12625. I do apperciate all the help. Thank you.

***UPDATE****** After loading into the dashboard and completing the setup, I restarted to install the system update for the avatars. It decided to freeze up on the xbox logo screen. I turned it off and now it is completely unresponsive and it wont even detect the flash controller anymore in nandpro. I think I broke it pretty good this time.

Did you check your wiring to see if anything has been torn? Maybe something got shorted?

I double checked all wires and unsoldered and resoldered every wire. Nandpro wont even see it now. I'm gonna try uninstalling all the ports and drivers and reinstall them tomorrow to see if that works.

Are you flashing through USB or LPT? Make sure none of your wires are touching each other. Also, check your diodes just in case. Seems strange that nandpro wont even pick it up. Do you have it plugged into the wall when you are trying to read it? You need to have it turned off but still fed power through the power brick. Also make sure you have av cables in the av port since its recommend as well.

Im flashing through the lpt port on the computer, and with my usb flash drive through xellous. I have tried both ways just to rule out my wiring. Same results both ways. And yes I had all cables attached to the xbox and powered off. I have jtagged two four xenons and never had any issues. This falcon is just being ridiculous.
