hey,

i have done 6 hours hard work to get my 250gb hd working on my V1.1 xbox (with an xecuter2 chip), but it seems i am damn ....

anyway, this was my way:

* i have uploaded the new bios files via the evolution x bios flash menu
(tried about 4 different types 4.81; 4.79...and so on)

* in the end my xbox only starts with the ms dashboard and it seems the xecuter2 isn´t reachable.

here is my x2 chip:

my questions:
* how can i update my chip now and what bios will help me to work with 250gb?
* will i have to flash now via a cd?
* What xecuter do i have, or how big are my bios banks?
(couldn´t find any info about it on this site)

thanks a lot

i would think that the latest version of the xecuter bios would help you the most and there is a flash via network function (maybe on your chip but definatly on the x3)
dunno if you have to flash via cd or not but as cheap as they are it shouldnt be a problem and you may have network function.
try www.teamxecuter.com or www.google.com and search for x2 flashing.

uhhhh, so it seems i had only xecuter bios on it, when i have bought the xbox.
i didn´t mentioned that such bios would work with a other chip, so i believed it is an xecuter.

double ****, i am not a xecuter and i have no xecuter.

but thanks a lot!!!!

Not familar with the Aladdin chip or exactly where in your upgrade you got hosed, but I may have some advice that can help get you recovered. Do you know if you are loading a mod BIOS or the MS one? I guess the easy way to tell would be if you see "Microsoft" under the Xbox logo on boot, I don't think any mod BIOS says that. If you are still loading a mod BIOS it may simply be misconfigured for where your dash is. So if it is a mod and you can still load a retail game disc then you should be able to load a custom disc. Like the Slayers EvoX disc or similar you can create on your own. You could then reflash a BIOS that is set up to find your dash, or FTP a dash over if you don't yet have one on the HDD.

If you are booting the MS BIOS (which I believe should fail unless you've already locked that 250GB) and can't get a mod BIOS to boot then you're in deeper water. Check xbox-scene or elsewhere for Aladdin forums, see what can be done about externally flashing the chip. Since it is socketed on the Aladdin board you may just need to pop the chip and ship it to someone that could reflash.

Hey,
Whoopin is right. If you have an xecuter bios version 4979 or higher then there is nothing more you need to do with the chip.
The hard drive jumpers should be set to Cable Select. Then you pop in a boot disc with a dashboard that has FTP support. I would recommend Avalaunch because it has a built in file manager.
Then you FTP over all the files and apps and games that you want.

If none of this makes any sense to you and it looks like your reading Chinese then you need to go over to www.xbox-scene.com and read the networking and hard drive swapping tutorials.

There are good tutorials at www.xbox100.com/tutorials/ also.

Have a nice day.

yes, you are right i am in deep water..., i have tried to boot to the normal system (some seconds more on the power button), and that isn´t working anymore. also all custom cd/dvd are not readable from my box. so it seems i have to check a "good flashed lpc".

...i have done my best yeah yeah

thanks a lot

not being able to read disks could be your media brand or type or which dvd drive you have (one of them barely reads anything)

Already solved the problem, had to install a new modchip, tried some new sst chips with the right bios, but didn´t work. now i have installed a new xecuter and all is ok.
don´t know why the chip has gone killed with a wrong bios, but he did.

thanks a lot
