I think I killed my X3 with a bios flash!

My Specs:
Xbox 1.6
Xecuter 3 CE

The Short Story:
I flashed my X3 bios and everything seemed fine. Later I performed an in-game reset and from that point, could no longer boot to the main chip OR the backup. When trying to boot to the main chip or backup, the X logo on my switch stays red, the box trys to reboot 3 times, and on the third attempt it stays on but flashes red and green, no audio, no video. I can boot to MSDash just fine. I've had the solder connections checked by myself and a buddy who is a Technician Level 3 @ Micron Technology Inc. and they are fine.

The LONG Story:
I was playing (hosting) Halo 1 on XBConnect when my game got laggy, I performed the controller reset (triggers+back+black) and the screen went black but the box appeared to stay on. I shut it off manually and tried to turn in back on and it came on, shut off, came on, shut off, and came on again but this time it stayed on but it FRAGed. I have no sound, nor video, so i can't see an error code.
I have a v1.6 with X3CE and the 3029 bios.
I can only boot to the MS Dash (long power button push)
I can't boot to backup (power+eject)
When I try to boot to backup, there is either no result, or the box powers on, shuts off, powers on, shuts off, and powers on again but this time it stays on, FRAGS, and I have no audio or video and the switch's logo color is RED not blue.
I can't boot to chip (quick power push)
When I try to boot to chip, the box powers on, shuts off, powers on, shuts off, and powers on again but this time it stays on, FRAGS, and I have no audio or video and the switch's logo color is RED not blue.
My switch is set to: on on off off off
I didn't install the mod and I don't know much about the switch settings.
It was working fine until I performed the reset.

If the backup BIOS is fragging then something internal is amiss.

If you've completely checked all connections and cannot see what's up, it may be worth you trying another chip (if you have one).

I dont' have another X3, I have access to an X2.6, would that at least give me an idea if it's a chip problem or something else? I figure if i put the 2.6 on there, and it boots, then my x3 is dead, but if i put it on there, and it acts the same as the x3, then its a install problem right?

Correct on both counts - at least the 2.6 will connect in exactly the same way!

you have to try and push down the Xecuter 3 chip

i have the same version, though i have a v1.1 or 1.2 xbox

just keep pushing it a little down, and press the power button while pushing on it
it'll boot just fine (just keep pushing a couple of seconds after it's starting up)

i have the same problem but it's with some strange thing on the xapt3r adapter

going to solder it today or tomorrow though :/

What the hell are you bumping this for ????

I suggested you try another chip as it sounds like a connection / internal problem. It's up to you to try this and reply accordingly.

All my connections are fine and im not going to put money into another goddamn chip if its just going to die 2 months later. Unless some one can tell me for sure that the damn chip is fried, which i dont know what kind of pos could die like that, then im not going to buy a new chip. and if i do buy a new chip it wont be an xecuter because obviously its not what i need in a product. I wanted to get a control panel and LCD also but apparently i shouldnt put any more money into it.

Since the backup BIOS isn't even working, either the chip has failed or something's come loose.

Have you tried booting with the external switch detatched? I suggested another chip to eliminate the faulty party. X3's rarely fail, so either you've had an unlucky experience or there's something else causing this. Either way, you'll need to test it to be sure.

I unplugged the switch from the front, but not internally. I can't see anything inside the box that doesnt look just fine and dandy. If I had some kind of a guarentee that i could send another chip back if it didnt fix my problems, id order one, but i doubt that will happen.
