Well, i just installed my Xecuter 3 CE with my solderless xapt3r, and it went easy and fast. Got it going on the first try, on a xbox 1.0, and everything but only thing was my xapt3r came with a faulty screw but i managed to find one to fit it and hold it down. Anyways, I can't seem to flash the bios. The flash protect is off inside the xbox, and on the switch on the outside, it is set to on, on, off, off, off, and when i go flash from disk, i insert my disk, it reads it, then sticks at;

CD-ROM Label: X3_3108
Im sure it is reading the media, and the files on the disk are Dummy.bin (512 MB) and X3 3108.bin, but it just wont go, it just freezes there. Is there a problem with my install maybe? All the lights are on and working perfect, switch is lit up, please help me, I will keep trying though, thanks, Jared. :)

The problem is with your disc.
You need to rename x3 3108.bin to bios.bin
Then reburn the .iso and try again Or you can use the http method. In the http method you don't need to rename the bios

No Probs, it was easy to work out, coz you posted ALL the required information. I like that!
hehe, well if i need something fixed, usually people need to know more about the probem? I see alot of people just basically post "help me" with out even knowing much about the problem, you cant really help them. Also, you said earlier;

I do want to get a http hook up, and I need a cross over cable or what ever it is called. Tomorow I am going to pick one up, but is it just called a cross over cable or is there a specific name or type? Thanks again, Jared. :)

Sorry was offline for a while :)

Yeah resoldering that point on your PSU will be fine, don't need to buy a new one.
The cable you want is just a plaine old crossover cable. Any place that sells computer stuff should be able to help you.

About your flashing problem. Elaborate for me? You burnt the new disc and it told you no update needed?

You don't NEED a crossover cable if you have a hub, or a router with a hub built into, or a netwrok switch.

I would suggest the hub/router, because you can usually find a D-Link that costs like $20 after rebates, and that way your Xbox AND your computer can be online at the same time.
(You will want that so you can play XBConnect for free, and not pay XB Live, but ur comp AND Xbox have to be online @ the same time.)

Plus if you have broadband you won't have to unhook ur compy from the net just to FTP something to your Xbox.

Yeah, you can get a router, or a switch. Then you need patch cables not a crossover cable. Depends which way works for you. If you wanna put the xbox online then yeah, get the switch.

Hehe, I just bought a brand new wireless router, hooked it up, and I got a "excellent" connection as it says. Now, I am a total n00b when it comes to networking, i got a connection to my xbox and a connection to my pc, and turned on the connection sharing. So now I am going to try ftping with slayers, but first I am going to read some tutorials. Wireless is so easy, its so wireless! lol :D

connection sharing on the router, OR Windows Internet Connection Sharing?

Don't use Windows Internet Connection sharing, but instead let the router handle the addresses. (Should be set by default.)

You see, when you use Windows Internet Connection Sharing it makes your PC handle everything, but since you have a router that is a waste of the router's ability.
(Not to mention the fact that with Windows Internet Connection Sharing the comp HAS to be on for the box to surf)
